Featuring three new tracks and liner notes, The Very Best attempts to bring Foreigner into the 1990s as a viable, working band. Problem is, the most convincing songs here are those recorded during the band's first four albums when they were young and, if not hungry, at least not played out. "Jukebox Hero", "Hot Blooded", "Head Games", and "Cold As Ice" all sound as ripe and ready for radio as the day they were released. Singer Lou Gramm gave Foreigner its face and with the counterpunch of ex-Spooky Tooth guitarist Mick Jones proved a formidable team. Foreigner were good, this is them at their best. 14 Sep 2000

At their peak Foreigner wrote some excellent records, most of which feature on this best of. Stuff like 'Urgent', 'That Was Yesterday' and 'Waiting For A Girl Like You' not only display breathtaking meldoic keyboard-laden rock but also the quality of Gramms voice and Jones' guitars. They travelled through a variety of styles as shown by this CD. Raw rock n' roll, melodic rock, accoustic rock and Classic AOR. I thoroughly recommend this album, but don't stop there. Foreigner returned in 1994 with possibly the best comback album EVER. "MR Moonlight". Check that out too NOW.

this album is just unbelievable. i don't say it often. one song doesn't make a good album, nor does a few here and there. this album has so many wonderful classics. the lyrics are great and the vocals really project what they are saying. this is one of my all time faves. With heaven on our side is a master piece with many many more. this is worth every damn penny. its one of those albums which u just don't get tired off...

This contains an amazing collection of songs, very listenable. Lou Gramm's voice is always so distinctive. I liked the addition of three new songs, which fit in well with the older ones.
