5.0 out of 5 stars Great Resource 7 Jun 2012
By Patti Chadwick - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
Obviously this book is meant for the serious college student enrolled in this course of study. It is a hefty volume so unless you are serious about the subject matter, you would find the amount of information overwhelming. With that said, if you are looking for a good book on the study of vertebrates, you will want a copy of Vertebrate Biology. This book explains how vertebrates function and interact with each other and their surroundings, and provides a balanced overview of various areas of vertebrate biology. I had a pretty easy time reading this textbook. The pictures and tables inside are all clear and helpful. After visiting the American Museum of Natural History's Hall of Vertebrates, while on vacation, I wanted to learn more about the subject and this was definitely my go-to book. The author provides several pages of excellent references that I found helpful as well. For the serious student of our natural world, I would recommend spending full price for this book, and plan on spending several hours immersed in it.

Not the best book to study from. The material doesn't seem to be organized very well. Felt like I had to search the entire book very time I want to study a certain topic
