4.0 out of 5 stars GLIDER SLIDER 29 Dec 2012
Verified Purchase
The focusing rail arrived on time. Well engineered and strongly constructed in metal and with a good finish. The sliders move smoothly and easily in both directions, they are easily locked and remain firm. The rail was easily attached to both camera and tripod with all operating knobs accessible. Only two concerns at this time. The index mark for the forward/back slide is obscured at the end of travel. The locking screws are flat ended and screw into the vee which may cause damage if tightened too much.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect once tightened. 17 Nov 2013

My rack arrived within 24hrs, so I was more than happy with the delivery. On first inspection I'd have given this 3-4 stars, as movements were a little slack, as other users have also noted. However, once I stripped the rails down and tightened all of the loose screws, which was most of them, it functioned perfectly, with zero play in any axis. Admittedly not the quality of a Manfrotto or Novoflex, but at this price it would be mad not to give it a go.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good solid product once set up 21 Aug 2013
Verified Purchase
I like this, it is all metal and very solid once set up properly. There is no brand name on the item or the box and no instructions. The finish is somewhat crude compared to premium brand equivalents but it is a fraction of the price. Really Right Stuff would charge $500 + if they made anything similar.

I was concerned when I opened it to find it a bit wobbly but I tightened a couple of screws up and it is now very solid. It really feels like you could drop it onto a concrete floor without breaking it. What I like about it is that you can take the whole thing completely apart for maintenance with just a couple of screwdrivers and a small socket spanner. If you're on a budget, need one of these and don't mind getting your toolkit out this is unbeatable.

I purchased this slider after reading previous ratings, and am not disappointed. It is well made, smooth in operation, and good value for money. I am only just getting into macro photography, but setting it up with my Nikon D7000 proved easy and some initial shots using the slider proved its worth very quickly. Attaching the camera to the slider can be tricky, but extending the slider so that the screw clears the centre of the slide makes it easier. I recommnend this to anyone looking to add a useful piece of equipment for their macro photography.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality 17 Nov 2013

Great quality and well constructed. Smooth operation of both rails. More than I expected. A great piece of kit at a very realistic price for amateur photographers. Wouldn't go amiss in a professionals kit either. Well done Kaavie.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rail Slider 28 Sep 2013
Verified Purchase
This is a great product and has been used with a 5d and 7d with various L series lenses, it works fine in a landscape orientation but I felt a little nervous using it in a portrait orientation due to the weight of the camera, lens and flashgun. Having the micro sensitive adjustment is a dream, its smooth and accurate with adjusters to alter the tension, wish I have got one a long time ago. Great product many thanks.

I received this item and returned on the same day. Bad quality produt.
I ordered the Velbon Super Mag Slider instead and I am really pleased with it, what a difference of construction and quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well built. 5 Aug 2013

This is a well built product that is certainly very useful for macro photography. One of the rails wobbles slightly even when securely fastened but this is not a very big issue although it would be nice to see it improved. If there is no need for lateral movement, both rails can be detached and mounted together as one lengthier rail in the same direction. Recommended.
