Book Description

Verbal reasoning tests are used widely by employers during assessment centres in order to select the right person for the job.

They are particularly common during selection processes for careers that require an ability to communicate both verbally and in written format with customers or clients. There is a very strong possibility that you will encounter verbal reasoning test questions during your assessment; therefore, it is crucial that you prepare yourself fully in the weeks and days building up to the test.

This comprehensive book is packed full of sample verbal reasoning test questions that are guaranteed to help you score high in your assessment.

More About the Author

My name is Richard McMunn and I started the 'how2become' series of books back in 2005 when I was working as a Firefighter for Kent Fire & Rescue Service. I initially started selling the books through my website but soon expanded the range on Amazon.

Before joining the Fire Service I spent 4 years in the Fleet Air Arm on-board HMS Invincible. During my career I was heavily involved in recruitment and regularly sat on interview panels in addition to creating recruitment tests and scoring application forms and CV's.

Many of my books not only include details of how to pass a selection process, but I also provide sample responses to the application form questions and also the interview questions. I have helped hundred's of people to secure a job and I believe I can help you to do the same.

My books are created from a desire to help people achieve their goals and I am sure you will find my books inspiring and motivational.

I hope you enjoy my books,

Richard McMunn

Purchased so I could practice for an SHL test. This book and the exercises were really useful and would recommend to anyone in the same situation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Practice But Buy The Book, Not The Kindle Version 6 Aug. 2014

This book is very good for practicing pre-employment screening tests, also known as psychometric testing. You can improve your speed and score with practice. It gives good explanations of the correct answers so you can see where you went wrong, i.e. making assumptions instead of sticking to the bare facts. I bought the Kindle version (against advice) and now I wished I had bought the book. It throws off your timing and is very awkward to do the tests when you have to keep scrolling up and down to read the passage, then read the questions, and then check the explanations. I am still giving it five stars because it is good and it wouldn't be fair to ding the author because I chose the Kindle version. Buy the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent tool to assist in passing these type of tests 30 Jun. 2013

I had to take a verbal reasoning test for an interview for a job and when I did the trial test I only achieved 2/10 as I didn't fully understand the test. I (wrongly) made assumptions while reading the text which is absolutely not the thing to do. After reading this excellent book I was soon getting 8 or 9/10 so a fantastic turnaround.
