I expected more from this item. It has 3 major faults that in my opinion make it not worth buying.
I left a Controller fully charged (blue light) in it in the evening. The next morning I turned on my PS3 and the light was suddenly red for a good 30 minutes. This means that the Controller somehow discharged over the night worth 1/2h because I left it in the Charging slot.
The second problem. The LEDs seem to be of bad quality, or basically the whole thing isn't manufactured well. When I got my 2nd Controller (a few days after I bought the Charger), I put it in the 2nd slot. It wasn't fully charged, hence the light didn't turn blue. However it also didn't turn red like it should. So the red LED on the 2nd splot seems to be broken since the beginning. It works fine on the other slot however.
Also, after 2 days one of the LEDs in the corners startet flickering, and stopped working completely after a few minutes.
What's also negative in my opinion, is that the item uses 2 different colors of blue. The "fully charged"-blues are dark blue, like the PS3 Slim eject button light. The ones in the 4 corners, however, are bright blue or turqoise. So it doesn't really mach. The corner LEDs should be dark blue just like the "fully charged" light. It would make a great match with, for example, the Vertical Stand from Logic3.
I ordered a few dark blue LEDs and a red one for the 2nd slot. Going to mod this thing so the blues match up and the broken red light works. If that is done and works how I want, it makes a great accessory for your PS3, but like this it's not really that good.
There's also no way to turn off the lights other than switching off your PS3 or removing the cable. But that's not a major problem.
So overall I wouldn't suggest to get this item unless you're willing to invest time and money to tune it up a little.
