After my Peltors fell in a pond while clay shooting I wanted to replace them, and at the price and with reasonable reviews, I plumped for these as they looked quite good. However when they arrived I immediately realised that you get what you pay for and these chinese made ear defenders are are bit ropey but not quite bad enough to send them back as they'll probably stand up to light use but can't imagine them lasting. The moulding of the plastic casings and pads are not great and the sliding wires are very loose, whereas the plastic pivots on the ear cups are the opposite - very stiff, as are the volume control knobs which lack any on-off positivity (though the LED indicator is a nice useful touch). The front facing microphones are covered by a little sticker, as opposed to foam windshields on more expensive defenders, and are bound to fall of with use so will let dirt and moisture in - again a bit cheap and cheerful. They are actually quite comfortable to wear as the Chinglish instructions stae the are for, and I quote, "medium size weavers". As to noise reduction I would say they are weighted to higher frequencies as low end bassy frequencies don't appear to be attenuated to any great degree, but these are fine for general use. All in all I'd say they were O.K for occasional use such as DIY or a visit to a racetrack or the odd clay shoot, but for now I'm saving up for some Peltor SporTacs and wish I'd put the money I spent on these towards some better ones instead.
