Funky Latin Dance Album of the Year!!!, 3 Aug 2003
This review is from: The Venezuelan Zinga Son Vol.1 (Audio CD)
The Amigos Invisibles are Venezuela's funkiest dance outfit, putting out crazy, boogaloo-inspired rhythms that make you wanna move, even if, like me, you were born with two left feet. This is their fourth album (following the very excellent "Arepa 3000) and it has the strongest house vibe, probably due to the fact that the amigos worked with Lil' Louie Vega and Kenny Dope Gonzalez from Masters at Work. Put simply, this is more than your average Latino outfit doing disco/dance stuff. The percussion work is sizzling and the range goes from a remake of the classic "Ease Yor Mind", to straight up 70s salsa on "Esto Es Lo Que Hay" ("That's all there is") and an extended boogaloo jam on "Majunche". This is the funkiest leftfield Latin, disco, dance album of the year.

More Funk Less Fun, But I Can't Get It out of My Head!!!, 14 Aug 2003
This review is from: The Venezuelan Zinga Son Vol.1 (Audio CD)
I just got my copy of the Venezuelan Zinga Son and the first time I played it I felt like it was missing something. Where are the jokey comments about sex and love that made Arepa 3000 such a memorable album (and I don't even speak Spanish!!!). But aweek later I have to admit I'm hooked. The deeper house sound and the work with the Masters at Work really does work. "Ease Your Mind" is one of those tunes that will really stick in your head and the whole album is party music from start to finish. If you're looking for Latin tunes you will find them here and if you like old skool house you get that too. Another winner. I seriously reccommend this album to fans of the group and anybody who likes to hear fresh, intelligent sounds with a Latin, Nuyorican flava.

VENEZUELAN GROOVE!!! Masters At Work did a good job!, 27 Feb 2004
This review is from: The Venezuelan Zinga Son Vol.1 (Audio CD)
Fresh and very Venezuelan! Los Amigos Invisibles are back for good...Is worth the wait when you get results like this. The Venezuelan Singazon Vol 1 is the kind of albums that when you push play it's impossible to skip or stop. This CD is amazing! The most potential singles comes with a sort of Dub version immediately. The words "Rico Pa' Gozá"at the start never sounded more eloquent. If you want to dance, zingason, party, funk, boogie oogie, bossa nova, salsa brava...Go ahead! Buy this record. Esto es lo que Hay! (This is It!) Pure venezuelan groove. Enjoy this album and get ready to see Los Amigos Invisibles onstage. There's no other dance band like this one!
