Nolan knocks the more fashionable Brit pack writers for six - unlike them he actually sounds as if he KNOWS about deviant sex and hard drugs through experience, not through reading The Face. He can also make great jokes, unlike the humourless b******s currently infecting the cutting edge of British fiction.

If you think this book is going to be like Cavanagh QC, then you'd be disappointed because it's not. In fact, it's so unlike any legal drama, its shocking!

Gay prostitution; drugs; but quite funny too.

Its about a woman selected for jury service for a trial involving a man accused of assaulting another. The accused arranges secret meetings with the woman to somehow prove his innocence (which he strangely manges to do shortly after they spend a night together). So the book takes us through a couple of days of her life whilst she's trying to uncover the truth as to exactly what happened on the night of the assault. Jane Austen readers: this book is not for you. If you want an insight into how the 'other half' live - then buy this book!
