I have been a Dean Koontz fan since I was 14 - the last 10 years +, unfortunatly though some of his work in the middle started to get too predictable, with each new book feeling as if you had already read it but just lately 'Odd Thomas', 'Life Expectancy' have showed me that Dean Koontz can still write a thumping good book but Velocity...... blew me out of the water like many of the other reviewers I read it in two sittings I just had to know what happened next... absolutely brilliant I would recommend it to anyone who liked a thriller or a bit of a scare!

A thriller with depth 12 Sep 2005
By Telboy VINE™ VOICE
Format:Hardcover
I haven't read much Dean Koontz before this one, but the premise intrigued me so I thought it was worth a shot and I'm very glad I did. From this book alone it is clear that Koontz has a mastery both of plotting and characterisation, and it shows in this excellent thriller. It is a genuine can't-put-it-down page-turner, but with a thoughtful, philosophical edge. I read it in two sittings as I just had to find out what happened next. The identity of the killer DOES indeed come a little out of left field but is no less satisfying for that.

A definite must-read.

I did enjoy velocity, the main character Billy was interesting, The start and middle of the story was well thought out, but i have to agree with the other reviews that the ending made you feel 'oh is that it'. Good read but no where near as good as 'Dark rivers of the Heart' my fave Koontz read

Gripping but let down at the end
This is a good book, not a great book. I loved the concept of the notes being left and when this happened within the story it definitely did get your heart going a bit and built... Read more

A page-turning anticlimax
This is by no means a small book but I got through it faster because of the good use of pace and intrigue. Read more

Love the twists and the way how Dean pieces the twists together, but unfortunately the ending of the book let it down. Read more

Starts off well but runs out of steam
I loved this to begin with. It held my attention. I wanted to know more, find out what happened. About a quarter way through it started to lose momentum and I almost gave up. Read more
