2.0 out of 5 stars Too big for comfort 14 July 2009

A bike saddle is very much a personal thing. Everyone has a different posterior, so it is best to try a few different saddles to find one that is most comfortable for you. Having bought a new bike with a typically 'razor-like' small saddle (sadly, all new bikes seem to come with these as standard), I wanted to upgrade to something that would suit my 40 year old back-end. This seemed to fit the bill, but having tried it, I found it not so comfortable, so it is being returned. One thing you have to remember is that a too big a saddle can cause chaffing on the inner thighs, so if you intend to cycle for long periods (e.g 30 minutes plus) a more conventional quality bike saddle may be better. In the end, I opted for the Bell Max Comfort Seat available from Asda which is slightly smaller and had a much more comfortable cushion, but that's just my preference, and for some people the Velo Cruiser may be more apt.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow, what a difference ! 5 Jun 2010

Took up biking this year. Using the standard fitted saddle that came with the bike, my rear would become very painfull after about 3 miles or so. It was the kind of pain that's even more painfull when you initially get off the bike (always dredded having to get off the bike for this reason). Was told by the bke shop that if I persevered with it, it would become more comfortable, after several weeks, the pain was only getting worse. My brother-in-law had replaced his standard saddle with an more expensive gel seat, but standard size. I tried using that, but for me, was no improvement over the standard saddle, then I purchased THIS saddle. What a difference !

I've gone from painfull 3 mile rides, to 15 mile rides with "NO" discomfort at all. If you have a hardtail bike (which I have), the springs really do soak up the rough surfaces. The springs did get a little squeaky after a few uses, but a little spray of WD40 soon put a stop to that.

I could do with loosing a couple of stone in weight, so there is a lot of weight/pressure on my bike seat, but this seat copes with ease, very comfy. I brother-in-law even borrowed it, and now he is getting one of these (getting rid of his more expensive gel seat).

Oh yeah, seeing as this is a uni-sex saddle, I'd better mention that I'm a bloke.

5.0 out of 5 stars Helen at Howden 15 Dec 2010
The saddle which was supplied with my husband's bike was, apparently, extremely uncomfortable. The Velo Cruiser Webspring saddle is, so I am told, 100% better and makes a considerable difference to the cycling experience!

Having been given the bike, from a male friend, I was desperate to find a comfy saddle. This is just the trick. Hubby said it was easy to put in place.
