I understood the description as meaning the adhesive base was super-strong.
It's actually the velcro itself which is stronger than the adhesive base.
So when you try to separate them the adhesive will give way before the velcro.

Bought this to replace velcro on some hanging basket things bought from Ikea which kept falling down. The Velcro really is very strong however the adhesive that is used to stick it to the surface isn't quite so strong. Otherwise it's fine.

fantastic bit of kit
nice 1 helped loads, the sticky side is really strong and bonds well, thus leaving the strong velcro to do its job perfectly too. all round a good product.
