After reading several reviews for the Veho VFS-002 I was in two minds whether to purchase this product or not. I am very happy to say I am pleased I did purchase it.I agree with R1ster that the slide cases are delicate, but why would you want to manhandle then? The design works perfectly well. As for photo quality, well I haven't had any problems. I can only guess Veho have updated the software. The Arcsoft program (included) has several levels of picture quality adjustment. I instantly used the highest quality which produces around 3.5MB photo from the negative. I have not had any requests for additional payments to use the software application. I have only given this four stars due to the delicate slide cases, but to be honest I can't see how they could improve them. This product is great for the price.

I had the VFS-004 scanner from Veho which I used for scanning all my family's old 35mm Slides and Negatives. I have been waiting for a scanner that will scan the old 110 Kodak Instamatic negatives as I have loads of these from the 70's and 80's. I bought this scanner as soon as it came out last month and its even easier to use than the previous VFS-004. There are no drivers to load which means I just plugged the scanner into my Mac, loaded the new version of the media impressions software and was scanning in a matter of minutes. Great bit of kit and I am now embarrassing all my old friends on Facebook with photo's from school days.

Excellent purchase at great price. I have an existing Canon flatbed scanner with a negative carrier but this is restricted to only scanning 35mm negatives. I looked around for a 110 negative adaptor and was astounde to see prices ranged from hefty £300 to £500+ for a custom made negative carrier! Yes, you read those prices correctly!!!

Simple and easy to use and relatively easy software to accompany the scanner. A few minutes is all it took to gain some expertise with the image manipulation software from ArcSoft.
Only minor criticism is that there is no zoom facility with the scanner, so this can mean some loss of image distancing to leave you with a closer image than that scanned, but this was of no great inconvenience to me.
I agree with some of the other reviewers of this product in that you get what you pay for, but for a [...] all-in cost, I am more than happy with my Veho VFS-002 Slide & Negative Scanner for 35mm & 110 Instamatic Negatives purchase, especially considering what I would have had to pay for a custom made negative carrier.
