Product Description

A direct result of 13-years-worth of hard effort, Switzerland is the place where Vegusto originated, and none of that passion for the finest quality vegan produce has got lost in the transition to the UK market. In fact, looking at our stunning No-Moo vegan cheese sauce - the perfect accompaniment to a bowl of pasta, absolutely amazing on a pizza, or a fine addition to that Vegusto hot-dog which is screaming out for an extra kick of flavour - the opposite is probably true.

This is the only cheese free cheese sauce that I have found to be palatable. It has a definite cheese-like taste, goes well with pasta and cauliflower. I have also made a leek and potato and cheese sauce flan ant it worked really well. These Vegusto products have really helped me maintain my vegan diet because real cheese has a huge gravitational pull on me.... if only there was a real bacon alternative as well then I'd be in heaven.

I bought this as a treat for my partner, who until recently had to go dairy-free on account of our baby. She said this was 'almost as good as the real thing'. Which, given that she'd not tasted cheese in months, probably serves as some kind of recommendation beyond the 'Oh it's so amazing, I can't believe it's real!' hyperbole astroturfing reviews this product gets on the net. However, No-Moo definitely exists as a luxury as you couldn't really afford to buy it to replace everyday cheese consumption as it's so expensive compared to the real thing.

We had it with pasta, and as a normal cheese-consumer, I would say it tasted 55% like cheese and 45% of ... something else that wasn't offensive enough to not clean the plate. Comparing it with mild cheese I would say it tastes like it's been 'diluted' quite a bit, and anyway most of the taste comes from the aroma, which is definitely 'cheesy'. However, if you're an alcoholic and you're gasping for a drink, you'd take diluted beer any day of the week.

wonderful stuff

delicious for cheese substitute dishes such as cauliflower cheese, macaroni cheese etc etc. we are vegans and use it on just about everything when we want an extra treat

only criticism is we are not sure what it consists of but at least it is not as unhealthy as eating animal produce
