Simple and delicious 26 Dec 2007
This book is in a great small format with a solid binding ( unlike some cookbooks where the pages start to fall out after just a few uses). The photos are attractive and will make you want to try out the recipes. The organization into chapters ( starters, soups, salads, mains and sides) makes it easy to find your way around. There is an excellent variety of recipes based on different cuisines from around the world and they are all relatively simple to prepare. Best of all they are absolutely delicious. I have made quite a few of the dishes from this book and every single one of them has been a winner.

fantastic book 22 Feb 2006
By A Customer
I received this little gem for christmas and despite the wonderful feast in front of me I could hardly wait to get out of there and start cooking. The recipes are so easy to follow that even my boyfriend (poor guy - he suffers from shocking cooking phobia!) has been able to comfortably prepare some. I am new to cooking and had a dinner party (tapas style) and served up 6 different starters from this book, everyone immediately asked for recipes, and I was able to do this from scratch in a few hours - mini leek pies and capsicum rolled with goats cheese, basil and capers were the most popular i think - everything just goes perfectly. We have also since made a few other recipes which have also been brilliant!

Do yourself a favour and buy this book - even if you are a meatlover you will find loads in here you'll want to eat!

Exciting new ideas 24 Dec 2007
I have found this book to be a great source of exciting ideas, especially soups, though it is necessary to plan ahead as whilst none of the ingredients have proved difficult to get hold of, they are often not store-cupboard staples. That said it has meant I have tried lots of new ingredients (which have since become store cupboard staples for me). There is a wide variety, the recipes are simply laid out and easy to follow and it is often easy to substitute ingredients with whatever you have to hand. An excellent starting point for anyone who is looking to expand their repertoire of vegie dishes - I would also recommend the good food 101 books for the same purpose.
