Great Simple Soups 6 Sep 2010
By Flyte
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Book is full of wonderful, simple recipes. Each soup has a wonderful picture attached, and the calorie, fat content ect for each soup is listed. The good thing about this book is that the soups are varied but simple, which is something I like because if the recipe is simple, you are going to cook it!

Stick to hand? 1 Feb 2012
By M. Oxby
Format:Paperback
There are more soup recipes here than you can shake a stick at - well, 175 to be exact. All veggie, all relatively wholesome, and all very easy (as most soups are, to be honest). You're spoilt for choice. If you happen to have some form of vegetable starting to "turn" in your fridge (mine always seem to be courgettes for some reason), just open this book and turn it into a nourishing soup. I recommend the Courgette Soup with Conchigliette (skip the chervil - I can never find it!). An excellent purchase.

Love creamy soups 20 Mar 2012
By Audrey Williams - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is my new favorite cookbook. I have tried a half dozen recipes in it and haven't found one I didn't like yet. So far my favorite is the Orange Watercress soup. My husband enjoyed the Parsnip And Sweet Potato soup.

This cookbook has a lot of recipes for 'creamy' soups. They don't always contain cream, but are pureed. This is the kind of soups I like, so this cookbook is just my thing!

There are pictures of most of the recipes.

The ingredients are common and easy to find, although the names used are British.

Cons: The quantities are written in metric, weight and US measurements separated by /'s. So /1/2 cup can easily be mistaken for 1 1/2 cups at first glance!

Recipes stay on the cautious side with the seasoning quantities.

The soups are separated into undelineated categories such as cold soups, creamy soups, spicy soups, and hearty soups. Many soups overlap these categories. But within the categories they are arranged alphabetically by title, and the title is usually the main ingredients. There is no separation other than a heading at the side of the page to show when you are going from one category to the next.
Not for Americans! 29 July 2011
By Vegetarian Mountain Mama - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Names of ingredients used in most of the recipes are not common to Americans but are probably common in the UK. Very disappointed in the types of soups with same ingredients used in many recipes. Found soup recipes to be redundant & unappealing with most high in fat content. Since I normally find soup to be very healthy & satisfying I am very sorry that I wasted my money on this vegetarian soup cookbook.
