It's a shame that, when a good game like this - with it's brilliant graphics, superb gameplay and almost completely bug-free engine - is released, not so many people hear about it. Yet other games that get released completely unfinished outsell the good ones by a bucketload. Simply put, this game is a very addictive, fun, exciting product. I have had it for 3 weeks now and I haven't experienced a single bug. The graphics are really top notch, and with a free scrolling camera that lets you go anywhere it makes it all the lot better.

The gameplay too, is great. You can play either Sandbox Mode or Scenario Mode, there are 9 scenarios and about 14 sandbox maps. In sandbox mode everything is customizable like frequency of disasters, events, amount of money you start with, amount of guests and more. In scenario mode you start on the tutorial level, and gradually work your way up to the higher, harder levels. My only grudge there is once you get the hang of how to pull in the money it can get a bit easy.

I find the actual in game gameplay brilliant. Once you've bought yourself a lot you fill it up with whatever you want to - and I mean anything from Nightclubs to Hotels, to Casinos, to Shops, to Strip Clubs, to Wedding Chapels and more. Sometimes the amount of options available to you is overwhelming, especially when you've just finished furnishing the outside of your lot, you build a casino, and you realize you have to do the same all over again but inside your casino. Some may like this, some may loathe this.

For some (like me) I love building the inside of my casino. If you can't be bothered then don't worry, each casino comes with ready made templates that if you choose to use will fill your casino up with all the essentials and neat furnishings without you having to lift a finger. I find it more fun myself to build the inside of my casino by hand.

On the inside you build everything from Gambling tables (including BlackJack, Texas Hold 'em, Carribean Stud, Let it Ride, Pai Gow, Craps, Roulette, Wheel of Fortune, Five Card Stud and Baccarrat), to slot machines (including Car Slots - where the prize is a car, or progressive slots, or the single slot machines), to Bars, Kitchens, Buffets, and of course all the maintenance offices such as cleaners, security and others. And you couldn't have a casino without all the beautiful furnishings such as flowers, fountains, lights, statues etc.

Vega$: Make it Big will provide you with hours of entertainment. If you're unsure about purchasing the game because you haven't heard of the developer or you don't trust it, then brush that aside because I assure you, you will not be disappointed.

No1 Sim Fan 27 Oct 2003
By ezzkazz
Being a major fan of sim games, I would rate this game in my top 3 without a doubt. This game has everything from exterior construction of buildings to designing the interior of the casinos, where you can either use a pre-designed template where the tables and fruit machines are already set out or if you are like me, you start off with a empty casino and its down to you to design it all yourself. The game also has a sandbox option where the vegas strip is your oyster and you can blow endless amounts of cash on anything and everything. It has some pretty cool camera angles to choose from, one being that you can walk about at your own free will along vegas strip and also inside the casinos. The graphics are excellent and sound is also but I have found one problem with the game when running it on a laptop with a mouse touchpad. It changes to silly camera angles which you cant work with, like views from under the floor of the casino when you are trying to design the interior. I have however, found that if you use a plug-in mouse this does not happen. Once I overcame this minor hiccup I have played the game constantly and cannot fault the game, graphics or gameplay. If you like this sort of game then it is a must. If you have never played this type of game before and thinking of having a dabble, then this is a really nice one to start you off.

Advanced Simulation 21 Oct 2003
By A Customer
This is by far the most advanced simulation game I have ever played. The level of detail is superb. You can easily zoom in and out using mouse scroll key, and can walk around in first person view.
The aim is to create a resort hotel and casino complex to compete with various rivals. You have full control, from selecting your plot of land on the strip to constructing and furnishing your casino. There are hundreds of options available from trees and shrubs to lighting and bins, dozens of casino game types, restaurants, gyms, cinemas, rollercoaster rides, nightclubs, all internal and external features you could think of are present.
The graphics are incredible. You can zoom in to see the pattern on the wallpaper, the facial expressions of punters etc, all in full 3D.
This game is quite complex and is harder to get to grips with that say Sim City, but the quality is excellent, and well worth a go.
I would recommend this to anyone with an interest in simulations with a lot of time on their hands, as it takes a long time both to play and master.
