I am not 100% vegetarian but do occasionally do the odd week of following an animal free diet. I am also a big fan of slow cooking and was absolutely delighted to be recommended this delightful Vegan recipe book by a friend. It is full of recipes I have never come across before such as Honey Dijon Brussel Sprouts. This original book has over 100 mouth-watering recipes which are all nice and easy to follow. Highly recommended!!

Some of the recipes in this book do look interesting, and they are all easy to follow. I look forward to trying some of them. However, it's a shame that the book doesn't include pictures - for me they're an important part of a cookbook, as I like to see what I'll be making! Other than the lack of pictures it seems like a handy book to own - especially when I actually get round to buying a slow cooker! :-)

First 2 recipes and many more throughout contain honey, an animal product which is not vegan. Honey can be easily substituted with maple syrup or similar so recipes can be used but it's a shame that the book is not written with vegans in mind, despite the title.

Bought this for my fresher grandson, thinking he could throw everything in the pot at the start of the day & come home to supper ready, but it's too American & many recipes require prior cooking. Also it's not truly vegan as some recipes use honey.

Nice and Easy to Follow Vegan Recipes 7 Dec 2013
By Lancaster Collins - Published on Amazon.com

These healthy Vegan recipes are really useful for me! As a vegetarian, it is not easy to prepare a tasty and healthy food by myself. And, it takes time to cook too. By using slow cooker as well as those recipes, I can prepare my tasty foods easy and convenient.

A nice and easy to follow recipes!

This book was given to me for an honest review. i am not magician in the cooking department but the recipes mentioned in the book are really easy to prepare and innovative. The best part is - "its all vegetarian"
I great book to start for beginners and a refreshing one for the pros.

Easy and Delicious! 8 Dec 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
This book has over 100 fantastic recipes that refrain from using animal products. There are so many mouth-watering recipes ranging from main entrees to desserts; Vegan Chili Con Queso to Crustless Pumpkin Pie. I, myself, am on a strict gluten free diet, so I’m so excited to see so many recipes in this book that are also gluten free. In fact, I can’t wait to try the Crustless Pumpkin Pie! And who knew you could make bread in a slow cooker? I’m excited to try the Apple Bread Recipe with Gluten Free Bisquik. Yummy!

If you’re looking to make a change in your diet, or just looking for delicious and easy recipes, then this book is for you!

Not really vegan - lots of honey used 7 Oct 2014
By Dos Gatos Diablos - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Although the book has "vegan" in the title it would need to mention substitutes for honey (which many of the recipes call for) to be useful to a beginning vegan. One recipe even calls for egg! If you're vegetarian, no worries - and if you are used to substituting for honey and egg you will be fine it just seems the title is misleading.
