Product Description

Product Description

New jacket for this classic vegan cookbook published in association with The Vegan Society.

Eva Batt was a vegan cookery pioneer and her book is much revered by the Vegan Society. It’s a classic introduction to vegan cooking, and is recommended for those who are new to meat and dairy free recipes.

The book:
•explains the sorts of staples you’ll need in the kitchen.
•provides recipes that are extremely straightforward to prepare.
•offers a complete nutritional guide to vegan food so the reader can be assured that they understand their protein requirements, and do get the right mix of vitamins, minerals and food groups.
•explains the different protein supplements – such as tofu, soya, t.v.p.

Recipes cover a wide range of dishes and meal types from breakfasts to snacks, lunches, dinner and entertaining.

The recipes themselves are excellent and very much from a British tradition of ‘good old fashioned’ cooking. As well as the basic cooking instructions, the text is full of Eva Batt’s useful tips and asides for new cooks.

A fully updated version of her earlier recipe book. Loads of delicious recipes, which are made with a minimum of ingredients and very easy to follow recipes.

A brilliant introduction to vegan cooking, incorporating lots of equivalents to favourite meat and dairy recipes. Lots of desserts and cakes included, as well as savoury dishes, sauces and soups.

A5 size, 137 pages - very good value for money.

The latest edition of a book I've been using for over a quarter-century - updated to remove such long-forgotton products as "Jumbo Grills" and "Marigold Vegetarian Meat"!

An unpretentious book of traditional British fare given the vegan twist - simple, inexpensive but delicious and filling recipes made from easy to obtain ingredients, coupled with a helpful introduction to vegan nutrition.

Everything from salads to stodgy hot sweets (the raisin pud is a particular joy) via roasts, cakes, stews, curries, baking and much more. Probably the most useful cookbook on my shelf.

this is the kind of food that gives veganism a bad name. i had this book for several years and have eventually given it to a charity shop because it was just gathering dust. there are so many better vegan cook books out there - i.e. vegan feasts, the new vegan, the voluptous vegan. please try these first!
