Directions of use

Here's how to give yourself a smooth look at home:

Read precautions thoroughly before use

Caution: overheated wax may cause burns.

The 250ml jar is sufficient for up to three depilations of both half legs.

How to get started
  • Remove the foil seal from the Jar. All traces of foil must be removed before heating.
  • Do not allow wax to come into contact with water as it becomes ineffective.
  • For best results, hair should be at least 5 mm long.
  • Skin must be clean and dry, not irritated and free from creams and oils before waxing.

How to heat the wax

Only use one method of heating: microwave or saucepan of boiling water. Do not switch between the different methods of heating even when reusing the product for several different applications. Check the instructions for full details on heating times.

Do not allow the water to come into contact with the wax or the wax to boil as this will render it ineffective.

After heating the wax, take care in handling it, as it may be hot.

How to check the wax temperature
  1. Use the end of the spatula with the blue square to stir the wax for about one minute, starting in the centre and working out towards the side of the jar.
  2. If after a minute the word 'NO' appears on the spatula end instead of the blue rectangle the wax is too hot. Wait until it cools down. Re-test the temperature by stirring the wax again with the spatula. The wax can be used when the word 'NO' disappears from the spatula end, and the blue rectangle reappears. To speed up the cooling, carefully stir the wax with the spatula.
  3. Always test the wax temperature by applying a small amount on the inside of your wrist to ensure that it is comfortable for use.

How to apply and remove the wax

If you have not waxed before, Veet recommends to start by removing hair from the legs. Only when you have experience then progress to the sensitive areas of underarm, bikini line and face. Veet recommends not to wax the same area of skin twice during a waxing session.

Veet spatula

How to use the spatula

  • The Precision Spatula is adapted to different body parts. Always hold the spatula by the part with the Veet Logo.
  • Use the hollowed part to apply the wax on legs.
  • Use the round part to apply the wax on underarms.
  • Use the flat end to apply the wax on bikini line.
  • Use the corner to apply on the Wax on the Upper Lip.

How to apply the Wax

  • Using the correct part of the spatula, apply thin layers of wax onto the skin in the direction of hair growth. The thinner the layer, the more effective the results.
  • The area covered by the wax should be shorter than the strips. Never cover the whole area with wax in one go.
  • Rest the spatula on the ledge inside the jar: it allows the spatula to rest securely with no mess and can be used to scrape off any excess wax on the spatula.

How to remove the wax

  • Immediately place the strip over the layer of wax, ensuring that there is at least 1 cm at the bottom which is wax free. Smooth the strip over the wax in the direction of hair growth.
  • Hold the skin taut with one hand and with the other hand, grip the bottom of the strip. In one swift and decisive movement, remove the strip against the direction of hair growth. Never lift the strip upwards, but keep it parallel and as close to the skin as possible. To relieve discomfort, apply pressure on your skin with your hands. Repeat as necessary. (optional)
  • The same strip can be used several times.

How to use on individual areas

Legs

  • Use the correct part of the spatula to apply the wax.
  • Apply the wax from knee to ankle.
  • Remove the strip from ankle to knee

Underarms

To reduce any excess of moisture, Veet strongly recommends applying talcum powder before waxing.

  • Cut the fabric strip to a suitable size.
  • Underarm hair tends to grow in 2 different directions, so requires removing in 2 stages.
  • Lift the elbow up and well back for the skin to be taut.
  • Use the correct part of the spatula to apply the wax.
  • For the upper part of the underarm, apply the wax in thin layers upwards towards the elbow.
  • For the lower part of the underarm, apply the wax in the opposite direction.
  • Remove the strip against the direction of hair growth.

Bikini line

  • Cut the fabric strips to a suitable size.
  • Only use on small areas at a time.
  • Use the correct end of the spatula to apply the wax.
  • Hold the skin taut, and apply a thin layer of wax in the direction of hair growth.
  • Remove the strip against the direction of hair growth.

Upper lip

  • Treat each side of your lip (left and right) separately.
  • Cut the fabric strip to size.
  • Use the correct part of the spatula to apply the wax.
  • Hold the skin taut and apply a thin layer of wax above one side of the upper lip in the direction of hair growth.
  • Remove the strip against the direction of hair growth. Repeat on the other side of the lip.

After Waxing

  • This wax is water-rinsable allowing you to rinse off any residues with water.
  • After use, strips may be rinsed by hand with water only, and dried in order to be re-used for the next hair removal session.
  • Rinse the spatula with warm water and allow to dry before putting it back into the box.
  • Using a damp cloth, remove the excess wax from the edges of the jars and the lid before closing it.

Good hair removal is an essential element of any summer holiday. When it comes to hair removal, the choice of products is vast so it’s best to consider the following:

  1. Time you have available – 10 minutes to get ready for a date or time to really pamper yourself?
  2. Your pain threshold – let’s face it, waxing isn’t pain free despite the fantastic results!
  3. The result you want to achieve – longer lasting, soft hair or a quick fix that’ll last 1-2 days
How does waxing work?

Wax clings to the hair shaft (and not the skin), which is then removed from the root by the mechanical action of removing the wax or fabric strip from the skin. Hair regrowth is soft to the touch and you will not need to depilate again for up to 4 weeks.

Is Waxing suitable for everyone?

Waxing is not suitable for the elderly or diabetics, and though suitable for pregnant women, may cause bruising. Certain areas of the body should only be waxed if you have previous waxing experience. It is advisable for children under 16 to be supervised by an adult when using any depilatory method.

How long do I have to wait between applications of Veet Wax products?

Hair growth is very individual so timings vary. Hair should be between 1,5 and 5mm long as a minimum, depending on which Veet wax product you are using.

Why do I need waxing experience for my underarms and bikini line, but not for my legs?

Because the bikini line and underarms are more sensitive and challenging areas to wax than legs.

Top Waxing Tips

  • Exfoliate your skin 24 hours before waxing: the wax will cling better to the hair and will be more effective.
  • Rub an ice cube over the area you plan to wax, dry your skin thoroughly and then begin waxing. This will quickly cool your skin making the hair easier to remove in one go.
  • To soothe the skin after strip removal, immediately apply pressure with your hand.
  • Sensitive skin can be susceptible to red bumps after hair removal no matter what depilation method is used. To avoid red bumps it's important not to wax your legs before or after a very hot bath or shower, as this can irritate the skin.
  • Try to avoid waxing during your period as skin is at its most sensitive.
  • Exfoliate once or twice a week using a body brush or salt scrub to remove dead skin and give your circulation a boost.
  • If you get the odd in-growing hair, rub lemon juice on to the affected area – the fruit acids help to exfoliate the skin which should relieve the problem.
  • If you’re waxing for a special occasion, make sure you allow a day for any redness to die down.
  • If you haven’t waxed before, try waxing your legs first – they’re the easiest, and less sensitive than other areas.
Creams vs. Waxing

Creams work so well because they go below the surface to dissolve the proteins that make up hair. So you're left feeling smoother for up to twice as long as shaving. For the longest lasting smoothness, try waxing. Because waxing removes hair from the root, you're left with a silky smooth feeling that can last up to 4 weeks. When the hair eventually grows back, it's often sparser and softer too. Waxing is easy to use and far more comfortable than you might imagine. So give waxing a try and stop waiting for that prickly stubble to return — it won't.

What's good about using wax as opposed to shaving, is that in general when the hair regrows, the hair after a number of repeated waxing becomes `softer' and unlike using a blade you do not get that horrible bristle action that is both irritating and itchy. It's a good suitable process to use and if get the right technique then you can almost replicate salon/spa results. For best and most effective results its best to follow the instructions, especially the heating process. If this is your first try at waxing - always try a small area first and go for straight forward areas such as the arms or legs before attempting underarms or other sensitive areas. That said this product is really good for work on those areas that difficult to use strip waxing or the dreaded razor blade. A good product that does its job, just work on technique and follow the instructions.

It smells very good, it's ready in no time (using the microwave), and I don't know… it's just the perfect wax for me (and I do hate waxing).. Be careful when it's really hot..

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
The box contains a 250ml jar of wax, which is sealed with foil. You can choose to either heat the tub (with lid and foil seal removed) for 40 seconds in the microwave or pop it in a saucepan of water for 10 minutes on the hob. Whichever method of heating you choose, you are warned not to switch between the two for successive heating of the same jar.

The supplied wooden spatula contains a reassuring temperature sensitive strip that lets you know if the wax is too hot for safe use. Once at the correct temperature, you can spread the wax over the area to be treated, apply a fabric strip and whip away to reveal smooth, hair-free skin. The key to minimize discomfort is holding the skin taut and not being hesitant when pulling the fabric off. Any wax remaining on the skin can be washed off easily with water.

It was an effective hair removal process and one that enables selective application of wax just where it is needed, minimizing waste. It is messier than using wax in tubes or pre-applied to strips but is one of the most effective home waxing kits I have used. However, do follow the instructions – microwaved wax can be deceptive and if you fail to note the temperature strip you could burn yourself.

Now this has to be the perfect home wax product. Its a nice big jar, that will last ages, it heats up quickly making it very easy to apply, and it smells divine! (unlike wax my daughter used to use, that stank out the microwave and the whole house for days!

This goes on very easily, smells good and leaves skin smelling good, but best of all, it really works, and works well too.

This was good for all areas including the face. For me the final cherry on the icig was that it wahes off easily unlike previous waxes I've used that still have that horrid feeling a day later.

A very good product indeed. Would definitely recommend, and buy again as a genral purpose wax.

1. Smells so good
2. I have a professional wax pot heater, wish I'd never bought one and used this! Microwavable wax is great but one problem, I personally have to re-heat
3. No sticky residue that is a pain to get off
4. Not great for bikini, but good for arms Etc
5. Much more expensive in boots this is cheap from Amazon
6. When you get it, it looks smaller than you thought but lasts ages
7. I use pre wax spray to cleanse then after wax with aloe Vera cream after, I also use my own strips but these were okay.. Not many though so buy some they're only cheap

I bought this product as I was using nair hair removal which ended up recking my skin as my skin is sensitive thats why I got this waxing product instead. Its definately not as effective it does remove some hair but not completely, from reading reviews I thought it might be worth buying but it wasnt that great. I also found it messy and hard to use although on the plus side the strips are washable and get a lot of wax! Anyway I don't think its worth buying for those who are buying this to change to use a wax method of hair removal and want very effective results.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
Initially I was quite impressed with the Veet Oriental Wax. The 250ml tub actually did heat up in the 45 seconds it said it would (in an 850W microwave) although it seemed to be far hotter in the centre and a bit thicker around the edges. When placing the spatula in, the indicator did change to NO but it didn't take too long for the wax to cool enough to use it.

The wax spread easily with the spatula although a little messy (so make sure your surfaces are covered) and I loved the fact the tub had a little shelf to rest the spatula on so it didn't drip down the tub. There are 12 wax strips which can be used several times. Unfortunately even after several tries, very little hair was removed. I even tried on different length hairs but it just would not remove enough to be effective. On another plus point though the wax full came off with each wax strip so there was very little mess.

This isn't the first Veet product I've tried - I've had slightly better results from the Easy Wax Electrical Roll On so unfortunately this isn't one I'd purchase.
