Veet Ready to Use Face Wax Strips - Shea Butter & Berry - 20 Strips

I highly recomment these for waxing your upper lips. They work really well and remove all the hairs. I much prefer this method of hair removal now then using cream like I used to.

The only negative is they don't give you anywhere near enough oil pads to remove the excess wax afterwards. Say there is 20 wax strips - well they give you 5 oil pads!!

Tip: When the oil pads run out, use baby oil (or whatever oil you have on hand) on a bit of tissue to remove the excess wax. Soap etc doesn't work - it has to be oil.

So I went to Asda yesterday and as always I was looking around for anything basically. I came across this, and lots of other hair removal products that were mega cheap. They were all on sale for £2.50. The box was little. And it says Face on it, but if you read the leaflet it says you can use it on face, bikini line and under arms.

I got it home and decided to use it, straight away while something was in the oven. I had read the instructions and it seemed easy. I've used Veet Wax strips before and they are pretty good. Apart from can be slightly messy but because it was for my face I though it wouldnt get very messy.

For £2.50 you get 20 wax strips and 4 Veet wipes, which are oily things that you use after, it gets rid of the excess wax. The wax strips are really thin and long. Suitable for certain places like your face.

The instructions are easy and say you should warm up the wax by rubbing it between your palms. Pull the strip apart then, put it in the same direction of the hair growth, pull the skin taught with your other hand and pull in the oppersite way of the hair growth. Also on the Veet instructions it has a few pictures to make it simple to understand.

So I did all the instructions (by the way I used it on my face, as we women have to keep the appearance up ;-P) It hurta quite a bit but you have to try not to think about it and just do it. The pain was bad but its much worst on your bikini line. The hair came straight off in one go which relly surprised me as I had used a different Veet for face before and that was pretty rubbish. I was really pleased with the results, not one hair left. And its not like the hair on my face was long or thick. Its fair hair so you would think it would be harder but it wasnt.

After two wax strips I had done, it took about 5 minutes, maybe even less. Then I used one of the wipes which wasnt very nice but got rid of what was left. I think you should get more of these wipes because 4 wipes to 20 strips doesnt seem right. I used water before after waxing and its not the same and leaves you sticky.

About half an hour later while I was watching Ugly Betty on E4 I felt my upper lip and it felt tingly and numb. It felt really strange also it had swollen which I was not expecting. Last time I used wax strips for my bikini line I was really bruised the next day, but Im sure it didnt swell. It felt numb all night but got better as time went on.

The next day (today) it doesnt feel numb or tingly anymore but it does feel slightly lumpy. Maybe I've had a bit of a reaction to it, but its nothing to noticable. Just a tiny bit. Ill have to see if it goes down. Im sure it will.

23/06/11 (Two days later) The feeling has no come back and is no longer numb. The bumps have gone down, it is slightly rough due to where the lummps were but still hairless and smooth!!

What I like about this is its ready to use. You dont have to really do any preporation because they are ready to use cold wax strips. The last Veet thing I had for face you had to put in boiling water and it was reallly messy and didnt work very well.

All in all I would definitely recommend this to any women who wants to keep herself looking fresh and it being easy to do so.

I have no idea what was wrong with these strips, but each and every one ripped a layer off my lip. the change was from one packet to the next so it definitely wasnt something i did.
