I bought this vacuum in October 2007 and soon realised there was a fault. On some batches of this model, the back of the grill comes away while you vacuum. It is then necessary to keep the grill on with tape. I called Vax and they told me there was a fulty batch and they would deal with any faulty vax VZL. They sent out a spare part which attaches under the grill to keep the grill in place.
other than that this vacuum is extremely powerful, sometimes heavy to use while working on the stairs, but cleans immaculately. The hepa filter is a good addtion and the is easy to clean and storage is also quite easy.

I purchased this hoover 5 months ago, as I wrongly assumed that as it was made by a 'reputable' company it would withstand the test of time. How wrong was I! The suction has given up after 5 months, despite having not used it that much. I purchased the hoover from Argos who informed me that VAX, being so conscious of their reputation, would fix it. I contacted VAX who said that without a proof of purchase, they could not replace the product. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ....

This is excellent for the car and hard floors, the only problem I had was the rewind for the cord never worked! and also the filter cover kept flying off along with the filter. I had to use screws to modify it too work. I bought it in the sale for £35 so can't complain too much.
