I have 2 dogs and have been so fed up with a mop and bucket - I spend my time changing the water as it gets so filthy and I don't think the floor is ever clean. Keeping the 2 labradors out of rooms I have cleaned & are still wet is always a nightmare.
I saw this product on QVC but bought it on Amazon with an extra bottle of cleaning solution for less money. I love this machine! I read a review somewhere else that said it takes a long time, but I have not found that at all - it is quicker for me because as I said before I spent my time changing water.
The suction is excellent and is touch dry instantly, there is no mess or fuss and I find a very strange satisfaction in watching all the grime that has been lifted up. We only have carpet in our bedrooms, so the majority of our bungalow is laminate and tiles - it looks as it did when we had it was new. It is the size of a normal upright cleaner so stores easily, unlike the other bigger carpet washers from vax. There is no complicated assembly, just click the fittings on and unfold the handle. The cord is long enough to reach across my rooms without having to unplug. The controls are simple and consist of one dial to select dry, wash or suction - one on/off button and one trigger in the handle to dispense the solution. The instruction booklet is short (yay!) and easy to understand.

I have only just started reviewing products on Amazon and felt I really should post one online for this little machine. I hate washing floors with a vengance but have tiled hall, kitchen, utility, bathroom and shower room floors and was looking for an easy life! This Vax is wonderful. First you can vacuum with it, then wash with it (it has brushes underneath to scrub off any stuck on marks) and then you can pick up the water lying on the floor with wet pickup and it dries in a matter of a couple of minutes. With two young children it is fabulous and the wet pickup means I no longer have to keep them out of rooms or worry about them slipping over. If you hate a mop and bucket too you must buy one - although I was really fortunate that mine cost only £58 from Makro!

I had been looking for a floor washer for some time and had originally seen this on QVC however amazon was almost half the price of QVC. This certainly is much easier than mopping however was slightly disappointed that it didn't leave my floors sparkling. This could be due to the type of flooring I have which is Karndean. Perhaps I would get better results using the Karndean floor cleaner however I have not tried this as the instructions recommed only using a Vax product. The facility to hoover then simply turn a switch to wash then turn the switch again to dry the floor is really simple and easy to use. It certainly cuts out the need to have a seperate vacuum cleaner. The wet pick up doesn't leave the floor bone dry but it certainly cuts the time it takes for the floor to dry which is really convenient when you have kids who can't stay out of your way for long!
I would recommend this floor cleaner if you are looking to cut out the backbreaking work of mopping your floor. It is also much more hygienic than mopping and has certainly encouraged me to clean my floors more as I had to set aside a whole afternoon to clean my floors whereas I can now do the same area in around an hour. I would recommed shopping around though for the best price as I found that prices vary a lot from different sellers.

My original review (see below) was a 5-star endorsement of a great design whose most obvious fault was that it had been slung together for tuppence in some far off sweatshop and thus made me nervous that it would quickly fall apart.
I can now report that the brushes stopped rotating a few months back, and that the entire unit had to be returned to VAX for replacement. They were very professional about it, arranging courier collection and supplying us a brand new device early the following week, but we were given lots of flannel by the helpdesk team who explained this model "almost never goes wrong".
Yeah, right. I can now see that the fault we experienced is the SAME ONE as reported by numerous customers on Amazon.co.uk alone, and that the VAX reps were clearly talking out the back of their hats. Had they been straight with me I would not have dropped quite so many stars from my review, but I now feel there's something disingenuous going on.
I maintain that this model is a fine tool let down by its supremely crud build quality. Build it properly - VAX are you listening? - and it'll be amazing. How sad that this also applies to pretty much everything we buy these days, businesses #1 priority being to make a quick buck from us chumps.
