For the money this isn't a bad vacuum. It does its job, the suction levels are consistent throughout usage as is the pickup. It also has a number of features that were originally found on high end vacuums; i.e. HEPA filters, cyclonic suction. Build quality is where for me this vacuum looses stars; dodgy retraction on the power cable, the hose feels cheap and the fit on some of the tools is so-so; but then this is a low price vacuum compared to its more expensive cousins in the vax range and economies have to be made somewhere to get the price down.
Build quality aside, this vacuum works and works well, and at the end of the day that's what you want a vacuum to do. Its light, manoeuvrable and easy to clean and keep clean. Vax also provide good warranties on their products so if it does go wrong they'll repair/replace; I've experience of this with an upright we own and the repair turnover was quick and free from hassle, although probably not what you want to hear when buying a vacuum it's nice to know it's there if you need it.
