I bought this because we were due to have some electrical work done and with the night's drawing in I didn't know if the electricity would be back on before it got dark. I was attracted to this torch because I liked the idea that it being wind up, would always be ready in an emergency and I wouldn't have to worry about batteries. I must say I was pleasantly surprised at the power of the beam. It uses LED bulbs and I hadn't realised they would emit such a strong light. The torch is light and compact, but not so small you would be worried that you might lose it if you dropped it or that it would break easily. It is very easy to wind up, and seems to hold its charge very well so far, with very little winding. All in all, I thought it was excellent for the price, and I think I would consider buying another keeping in the garage or cellar.

I bought this torch as a replacement. It is not as good as the previous one which was a different make. Although it works fairly well the on/off switch is very difficult to use, it needs a thumb nail to press it, impossible if wearing gloves. So it is a dry and warm weather torch only.

Bought 2 of these for emergency use when out fell walking - although I hope never to have need to use them! I was so impressed I bought 3 more for use around the house and in the car.
Not used them for too long yet but they give a very bright light over 2-3 metres (not great for long range) - light and easy to wind up. Very pleased.

Hopeless !
I bought several different type of wind up torch to see which was the best to buy to send to friends in Cuba. This performed by far the worst. The best was the Lighthouse one.
