About the Author

Chris McBeath (greatwriter@uniserve.com) is an award–winning journalist and the author, co–author, or editor of several travel books including Frommer’s Portable Guide to Vancouver Island, The Gulf Islands & The San Juan Islands , and The Magic of Greater Vancouver . With more than 25 years of experience in the tourism industry, Chris has worked aboard cruise ships, opened hotels, managed convention centers, marketed spas, and written about nearly every aspect of travel. She also owns www.greatestgetaways.com. Although based in Vancouver, she maintains strong ties to her native England and has a developing kinship with the state of Georgia. And in between her travels and penmanship, she pursues a love of acting (Chris is still a member of British Equity) — which one day might even steer her to screenwriting!

It has a lot of candid and very useful information to supplement what I found on the internet. It alerted me to things that I might not have considered otherwise. I especially liked the inclusion of URLs to pertinent websites for more information. The transportation system in Vancouver is excellent, but determining routes takes a little research.
