Product Description

Product Description

A large-format book detailing the background and designs of the year's biggest movie. Includes interviews, set photos, sketches and CGI, complete with interviews and the movie screenplay.

It is a time of darkness. With Europe on the threshold of industrial greatness, terrible and ancient powers are at work which threaten to bring down civilisation as we know it. An unholy alliance has been forged, and one man is charged with the responsibility of bringing down these awesome monstrosities. The future rests in the hands of the legendary Van Helsing…

In a movie that will pitch cinema’s three most iconic horror properties – Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster and the Wolfman – against the world’s greatest vampire hunter, Van Helsing, Universal Pictures’ biggest film of 2004 is already a guaranteed success. Written and directed by Stephen Sommers, the man who turned The Mummy from a sleeping franchise into one of the most successful film events of the last five years, Van Helsing uses the latest in digital special effects to bring to the screen an epic clash between good and evil. Starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale, Van Helsing is a stunning event movie which will reimagine gothic horror for a new 21st-century audience. A television spin-off series entitled Transylvania has already been announced for autumn 2004.

I am a die-hard Van Helsing/Hugh Jackman fan so anything from the movie I can get, I get. The book is quite thick so it takes a while to get through, there is alot to keep you interested.

There are alot of movie stills and concept drawings to look at and pages to read. It's also really interesting to read about how Stephen Sommers came up with the idea. Each main character also has a section, which includes interviews with the actors, how the director cast the character and about the character themselves. At the start it has a section explaining about the other, original films and the actors in them.

Overall it's a great buy no matter what the price and a beautiful book for any of the actors fans!
