Product Description

**Big thank you to all the new readers! I love you guys.**

The tingling, mesmerizing heat blazed even hotter in my veins as I watched him stroll towards me. There was a blatant elegance in the careless way he moved, from the slight swing of his arms to the fluid action in his long legs. He leaned over me, his eyes cold and calculating, his cool breath swirled over my cheeks like a freezing winter mist.

“You’re not afraid?”

I could not move. He was holding me prisoner without chains, without bars of any kind. He held me with the steady, penetrating focus of a hunter who will not be denied his prey. My fingers itched to touch him, to trail over his skin in slow gliding strokes. But he could not have me. No one could really have me.

Sarah Wood, after witnessing a battle between several powerful vampires on her land, is left stunned and feeling immensely guilty for having given permission for her friend, Alex, to be turned into a vampire rather than allowing him to die from his injuries. And though she tried hard to keep her sister, Katie from knowing about the whole vampire situation at their family’s Inn in the wooded hills of southern Indiana, Katie became the victim of a kidnapping herself.

Sarah is left to face the return of her mother, who had abandoned the girls when they were children. She’ll need every ounce of her bad attitude and quick temper to deal with the new surprises coming her way, including an illness that could very well leave the entire responsibility of the Inn and the vampires to fall onto the shoulders of her younger sister.

The paperback version of the book is 216 pages long. The manuscript in MS Word is over 35,000 words.

This ebook contains sexual scenes, language that some might find offensive, and one scene involving alcohol consumption. Parental guidance is suggested.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Vampire's Curse 3 Aug 2011
By AngelGoneMad VINE VOICE
Format:Kindle Edition
The Vampire's Curse is the second installment in the `Undead in Brown County' series by S.J. Wright. This addition to the series is jam packed with excitement. There's the unexpected appearance of Sarah's undead mother, a steamy love triangle and a power struggle going on.

Sarah is coming to terms with the task, of being a warden, that was left to her by her father but I think she is beginning to become a little bit overwhelmed by it all. It's all still surreal to her and she can't believe that her mother is still alive. It really knocks her self esteem. She also has to deal with the guilt of making a life or death decision for her friend Alex. Her decision comes back to bite her on the butt.

Michael's presence still makes Sarah pretty jittery but she begins to grow closer to him and begins to trust him. Not sure if it's a wise decision but in the heat of the moment, she has to decide whether she can trust an incarcerated vampire under her watch or trust a vampire that she gave her all to and was nearly sucked dry because of it.

I really enjoyed this book. It is a great addition to the series and gives you a bit more of an insight into Michael's past and how he came to be in the field. We learn more about Alex's past and connection to Sarah's mother that was mentioned in `The Vampire's Warden'. I loved the scene with Sarah and Trevor. Her cocky attitude had me cheering for her in the background hoping she would wipe the floor with him.

I think my favourite moment was near the end between Sarah and Michael. It was at that moment that all charades between them were dropped. It was quite magical reading this scene. I loved that Sarah couldn't help but dip back into her usual defensive cocky attitude with him though.

4.0 out of 5 stars better than the first!!! 12 Oct 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I brought this book shortly after completeing the first in the series, i found this book to be more interesting and to have more excitement.

The charactors come out more and you really are not sure about the love triangle!

I found this story to be compelling, and it was interesting the only down part again was it was short!!!!

Please S.J if you are reading these reviews, please be aware you have a fantastic talent for writing you captuvate your audience, the only thing i would like to change is the length of the books.

I have checked and found another of the series is being written, which is great because book 2 leaves you on a dramatic part.

Definately worth a read of this series!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliant read 4 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This is the second book in the Undead in Brown County series and centres around the main character Sarah, warden to the Vampires that reside on her land. A long with learning her new vampire responsibilities, she is discovering she has feelings for a vampire in her charge, trying desperately to avoid her mother, who yes chose to become a vampire, rather than raise her children and wants to protect her sister at all costs, which is proving difficult with Alex on the scene.....

This is a real page turner and the author has you gripped right from the start. My only complaint would be that its not an overly long book but its defenately left me wanting more.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but short 3 Oct 2011
By corinna
Format:Kindle Edition
The story is better than the first book, but it is so short.. I was left wanting more, and it only took me a couple of hours to read it. It is a typical vampire-human love triangle, but I felt that more information could be given about the back story of the other characters, especially some of the vampires. The book is leading up to the next book, but really I think that each book should have a strong story line that ends, and then the next book have a different story line. Instead, I feel like I'm reading half a story.

5.0 out of 5 stars More please 3 Oct 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is the second instalment of 'Undead in Brown County' the first being The Vampire's Warden. This is another fascinating take on the legend that is vampire. I enjoyed and recommend both stories.
The third book, The Vampire's Redemption, is due to be published in December/January. I am looking forward to it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyed it 8 Jan 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I did enjoy this, the main character is quite gutsy and Michael is interesting and the storyline has promise. The main thing that bugs me, and the main reason I didn't give this 5 stars is that these are several short books - why is it not one or two longer books?!
