I'll start this review off by admitting to my own idiocy. I've read all the vignettes online at Reynolds' blog but I bought the collection as soon as it came out to support a (fairly) new author that I like. I did NOT realise that there were 2 new stories in this until I started to read it yesterday and read Reynolds' statement at the beginning. The only reason I hadn't read this earlier was because I thought I'd read them all ... and now I realise I have made myself miss out on the sexy Duncan and Rajmund! I've managed to sadden myself with this fact.

But, all sadness aside, the vignettes are a great little addition to the Vampires in America series. We get some more face time with the lovely Lords and Lady and their mates as well as some interesting little back stories. I think one of my favourites was The Wedding, although I would have liked to see what would have happened if the Lords got involved - it would have been epic. Reading the vignettes has strengthened my idea of re-reading the entire series.

Bought it because of the price. I've read the author's other books and this little collection of novellas would not be able to be read standalone imo.
The book is really a series of 'out takes' from the main novels. It's a quick read and passes the time. Its heavy on the romance and short on the drama. An easy read if you don't want to have to think about what you're reading.

Vampires in America is a delightful series that has introduced some wonderful characters. The Vignettes were a way for the author to appease us fans in between publications & turned into events themselves. They are little scenes of the everyday lives of the Vampire Lords & their mates, the stuff that happens between all the big events. I love that they are all in one place now! This is a very fast ready, each story is fairly short & you should definitely read the books otherwise you might be a little lost (they would still be enjoyable, but you would miss all the delicious background info & character development & who wants to do that?) This particular collection includes several shorts about Raphael & Cyn, Raj & Sara, Duncan & Emma, & Sophia & Colin...the last being an event where all are present aside from Sophia. To be perfectly honest, Raphael & Cyn are my favorite couple in this universe & I feel they are really the backbone for the entire series (So if you don't read anything else, at least read the 1st 2 books in the series: Raphael & Jabril) having said that all of these vignettes are fun, naughty, & a delightful look at characters I have to come to be very fond of. The last vignette (written specifically for this publication) is a wonderful short where all the characters get to interact & you really get to see all the players & what they are like. I loved this particular story so much that it makes me sad that Vampire Lords are not really comfortable being in the same room with one another (let alone the same city). Cyn & her interaction with the other ladies is always fun to read about! The only thing that disappoints me is that now I have to wait for the next book & the next vignette.

"4 1/2 stars". I was recommended to read Vampires in America by Goodreads friends. I had heard about the series but was not sure if I should take the time to read. I was pleasantly surprised from the first book to the very last book(so far). These vignettes are the perfect way to appease your fans until your next book. I absolutely loved Cyn and Raphael. Their little stories were perfect. I enjoy reading books where the author continues to keep us informed about old characters we love. Duncan and Emma was also great because Duncan was the last book to read. The playfulness we saw between Duncan and Emma continues and it is so cute. I especially loved the wedding. Having all these Vampires Lords together was exciting but I think the best part was seeing the bonding between the females. The author keeps these women strong and confident and they do not taking anything easy. This was a throughly enjoyable read and I look forward to reading more.
