Vampire Knight Guilty Vol.1 [DVD]

Ok this is an easy one to review.

First things first, this dvd contains the first 4 episodes of Guilty. Which means there are another 3 volumes to complete this set. (you might want to bare this in mind when looking at how much this is gonna cost you)

Key points-

1. Vampire knight guilty is a straight continuation from the first series so if you havn't watched that- do so before considering purchasing this.

2. Your enjoyment of this series really will vary depend on how much you enjoyed the first series. As it's really more of the same stuff youve already watched.

The character designs are as beautifull as ever... the problem is that nothing is really done with them as nothing is really improved animation wise, most of the action and general character movement looks very clunky, which spoils everything a tad. This can also effect your immersion in the story.

Speaking of story, Vampire knight guilty actually has quite a good one... this series' plot finally feels like it's decided on where it wants to go. And as a result isn't in as much of a mess as the first series was.

There is an interesting new villian introduced in this volume and he only serves to build suspence for things that are to come at this point. Kaname's actions become more and more dark and you really get the sense now that this character is not the nice guy he makes himself out to be. Again this all serves to build suspence for things to come.... in truth... thats all this volume really does.

With only 4 episodes of plot development not much really happens. And thats my other issue with this series, it's waaaay too slow paced to the extent where it almost becomes boring (Just like its predeccessor).

So it has just below average animation and a very slow pacing. But the content of the story saves this one from a lower score.

Chances are if you didnt find yourself bored atall during the first series you'll love this introduction into it's follow up. This is for Vampire knight FANS only. If you really want a vampire themed anime then try Trinity Blood or Hellsing before giving Vampire Knight a go as they have better action and faster pacing. If you like romance, mystery, vampires AND don't mind a slow story then give the first series of Vampire Knight a try then move on to this.

if you love the 1st series then you will love the 2nd, it carrys on the story from the last serise so youl be bonkers not to get it,
the dvd is english dub or if u prefer you can have it in japanese with english subs.

brought this for my daughter so this is what she thinks love watching the dvd have got all of the other dvd's in the series
