Product Description
Amid the pulsating rhythms and dark fashions of the popular Goth scene, filmmaker Holly invites the stunning Vicki to take part in a documentary she's shooting about the "Weekend Vampire" phenomenon. Despite Vicki's insistent claims to be a real vampire, a passionate affair quickly develops between them. Meanwhile, a series of horrific and bloody vampire-style murders start occurring. Holly discovers that Vicki is responsible for the killings and is devastated, but being blinded by their relationship, Holly agrees to help Vicki to feed. Vicki is also pregnant with a "vampire" child and her hunger is increasing rapidly. As Vicki's craving for blood becomes more urgent Holly finds herself taking increasingly extreme risks for Vicki as she continues her murderous rampage.

Synopsis
While making a documentary about the Goth scene and 'weekend vampire' phenomenon, filmmaker Holly invites Vicki to take part, though her newly-found participant maintains she is a real bloodsucker. Fascinated by her subject, Holly falls headlong into a passionate affair with Vicki but soon discovers her lover has an insatiable bloodlust and is pregnant with vampire child.

If you imagine a cross between The Blair Witch Project and Jose Ramon Larraz' 'Vampyres', then you will get the idea. The device of using a documentary-making central character is retrodden to excuse some very amateurish acting (amateur=realistic), indeed there are any number of deficiencies - BUT the energy and enthusiasm of all involved gives 'Vampire Diary' a superb dynamism that carries the viewer through to the satifying conclusion. The film works both as a Lesbian romance and as a Vampire shocker and should attract a very diverse audience.

This is the first time I've been compelled to write a review on a film. And I've seen a few. I write this to warn you - don't bother. I feel cheated out of 90mins of my life and sad because I know I'll never get it back again. Save yourself the pain and watch something more interesting - like Songs of Praise. Rant over.

Not good, not good at all. Acting is terrible and totally unrealistic, the story itself wouldn't have been so bad if it had been played in a more realistic way. It is shot entirely in a home video type style which does nothing to enhance the film and it does not excuse the shoddy acting. Don't waste your money on this one unless the small amount of girl on girl action, the only bits well shot sadly, has you interest. Not even worth renting.
