Now don't get me wrong, this is a good movie, based on a very interesting and sensationalised story. But yes, it could have been done better. The acting is uninspired , mainly due to a story that seems to have been slapped together very hastily with no real insite into the true events that inspired it. The direction seems to have no direction at all, jumping from one event in the plot to the next and then left field with another (and believe me, the real life event's that inspired the film, and a superior book by Aphroditie Jones, are not nearly as confussing as the movie tends to be at times)!
The story is about the 1996 murdering of Ruth and Rick Wendorf of Eustis, FL, by the demented "vampire clan" leader Rod Ferrel and his "followers", which includes the Wendorf's very own daughter Heather! They make their way to New Orleans where their eventual capture ensues and they tell there story.
If your into vampireism it's an ok flick. If your into the true crime genra of films it's a great flick. Other than that i'd say RENT before you buy.
