I purchased this book with the hopes that it would clue me in to some good restaurants and bars in Val d'Isere for enjoying after a long day of skiing. Unfortunately - what passes for apres ski to the Mad Dog publishers consists of hanging out with other Brits almost exclusively. The bars and restaurants listed are geared toward English speakers and students and I found these sections of the book frustratingly unhelpful.
On the other hand, the book breaks down the red and black runs at Val and Tignes into star ratings and helpful descriptions of general conditions of many of the runs. This was invaluable in helping my party find some really great runs.
If and when I return to Espace Killy, I'll be looking to buy a guide in French to help me locate the best food and bars - because this one just doesn't cut it.
