Review

'By giving unbiased recommendations and considerations for each vaccine or combination of vaccines, this book will leave parents feeling empowered when it comes to making their own decisions, often flying in the face of conventional medicine and expectations.' -- Juno, Summer 2010 'Coherent and intelligent. This book is a veritable gem of fact, thoughtful discussion and suggestions of possible variations depending upon the child's circumstances. This is the best type of publication I have read on this subject, as it is factually accurate and unbiased. I would certainly recommend it.' -- Sandra Goodman PhD, Positive Health, October 2004 'The book contains the complete UK childhood vaccination schedule describing the illness, the vaccine, failure and side effects, then a section on recommendations and considerations. An excellent book for parents making vaccination decisions.' -- Scientific and Medical Network Review, January 2005 'Offers differentiated, critical summaries of the arguments surrounding vaccination. Cautions against making a choice based on fear and encourages parents to take the time to find out all the information they need before being rushed into a decision.' -- The Green Parent, December 2004

Product Description

While many parents are happy to follow official recommendations about vaccination, others avoid any vaccination for their children. This little guide will help parents come to their own informed decision based on clear information. It explains the different danger levels of various diseases, which are sometimes related to age. It also informs readers about the way different vaccinations work, and explores their benefits as well as potential risks. This is a second edition, fully revised and updated with the latest guidelines and recommendations.

If you're looking for a concise, accurate, balanced text to help you with the difficult decisions around vaccinating your child, then this is the book for you.

There is no scare-mongering in here and every salient point around vaccinations is mentioned. The points are all well referenced too.

My friend and I have between us bought about 10 books on vaccines and this, along with Dr Sears Vaccine Book, is the most useful and does not in any way force an opinion through hysterical hyperbole.

Through its balanced, careful approach it shows the pros and cons of vaccinating.

Having read it we're going to go for minimum vaccinations-polio and tetanus-and feel well enough informed to stand by our decision whatever happens.

This book has been a useful overview describing illnesses and their vaccinations. It has a good "general considerations" section too which brings up some points on the issue I'd not previously thought about. It's good in that it is quite unbiased reading - unlike all the NHS blurb out there just telling you that vaccination is best without any comprehensive argument for or against.

I was hoping for a little more detail, however, on what vaccines are actually available singularly (if any), what alternatives there are to consider e.g. supporting my child's health through good diet, using homeopathy etc. More of the history of each vaccine would also be handy.

So I waited for this book to be delivered and to be quite frank, im not sure if it was really worth the wait!

This book has some good information, dont get me wrong, in particular if you dont know about the th1 or th2 phases of the 'immune' system, thats great, but he could go into more detail with that particular area, as that is quite a crucial area to a lot of side effects experienced with 'Vaccines'. And it seems in stages of the book the editor, the british doctor inserts pieces of information which wouldnt have been in the original book from the swiss doctor. But their is an excellent amount of information whether biased or unbiased, let me explain, I thought this book would have sources that would be independent and not govermental, but most of this books sources are from german mainstream health positions in their 'scientific research' and a few from the nhs, which tells me that this information is biased from the grassroots, and then this quote "There is no doubt that vaccination is an important medical acheievement and an affective way of preventing illness.", now that quote is the foreword of the book, so it explains from the start which direction they are going by putting that in the foreword, So in short thats why i gave this book a 3 Star, but really I would like to give this book a 2.5 Star.

In you want to find some information which strives to inform parents, [...]
