So glad we had this on our 7mth old's wishlist. It is much better than the picture suggests.
It is very sturdy and can be used in a number of ways which makes for more interesting play. It can be spun without any sound effects, but has 2 different types of sound setting when required, the 'animals' each make their own sound when lightly moved and the buttons between them talk about colours/numbers interractively eg "which animal is red" & count the animals" "where is the octopus".
Our son has already learnt that he needs to press the yellow starfish to activate the spin - albeit at present he doesn't quite have the strength/co-ordination to push down without our help, and tends to hold it with his feet which stops it spinning. He enjoys it now and it won't be long before he can spin it himself too.

A fantastic spinning toy that's really captured my baby's attention, but it's just far too loud. There's no low volume setting, and the volume default is far too high considering that you have to sit right next to the toy to be able to spin it and press the animals/buttons. Other than that, it's a great toy which my baby loves to play with over and over again.
