This camera is rated age 5+. My little boy is 4 in 4 months, but he's getting along with it great as it's quite simple to use. I bought it in preference to the cheaper models as the resolution of the pics is slightly higher (although still fairly low at 2 megapixels) and there are games on it, and the facility to listen to MP3s and Sam loves music (headphones - proper ones that sit on the head - are included). We haven't had it long, but he can already take a picture, turn the selector so he can view what he's taken, apply funny effects and frames, use the movie feature, and play most of the games. A couple of the games wouldn't (I think) entertain a 5 year old lucky enough to play on any of today's gaming systems, but they're OK for now. Pics can be played through the TV or PC, and of course you can download pics to the PC, a CD is included in the box. The camera really IS tough - it's been dropped a few times, both accidentally and in demonstrations by Sam of just how unbreakable his new camera is! The coating on the side sections makes it easy to grip and hard to drop anyway and the 'binocular' viewfinders are great - Sam seems to prefer to use that than to look at the display on the back. I just missed this camera at a lower price (that'll teach me not to "Save for Later" and just buy, buy, buy!) so it was, I think, a bit expensive at £75 but Sam's wanted his own camera for a while now, and he couldn't be happier.
