i bought this because my son has a september birthday and will be 5 by the time he goes to school and i wanted to get a bit of a head start as he is lazy and doesnt have a vey good attention span! i also bought this over the 'challenger' model because the reviews for that said the screen was too small and this one appeared to be bigger, it isnt, it has a border the same colour around the screen so it is the same size.
it has a good range of activities and would be perfect for what i wanted it for but my son has sussed that its 'work' and isnt interested! my daughter on the other hand, is nearly 3, really likes it and although its maybe a bit advanced for her she did really well and enjoyed picking answers out of the multiple choices.
it has a QWERTY keyboard that will spell out letter sounds and examples of words beginning with that letter and games such as recognition of sounds, shapes and noises and matching up pairs and so many others we haven't got round to yet.
its good and well worth the money and i hope i can get my son interested in it!

My four year old got this for Christmas but has to be encouraged to play with it mainly because she finds the screen very small and dark. If children are used to using a real laptop i think they will find this a bit disappointing. Having said that, I couldn't find one with a significantly bigger or brighter screen. The limitations of the screen and its graphics let the product down.

This is quite a good educational excersise activity for my 3 year old Grandson but the one fault that really does need reviewing is the screen. It doesn't light up and you are not able to see it clearly, which is a shame otherwise it is good. I would not buy one again for that reason only though.
