Purchased the toaster and, after all descriptions read, awaited with great excitement. I can applaud the designers and the idea behind it. The toasting function is working to perfection, the bagels are toasted on one side, and with the engine delivering the toast up once its ready you can call it the 21st century appliance. There is a "but", however - a situation when, figuratively speaking, a little spoon of vinegar spoils a large barrel of honey. After two days of occasional toasting the engine got overly excited and decided that its getting underused and lazy. Since then it has not stopped going up and down. First we thought that this may have been one of the "features" rather than a fault, - the toast is made while moving ensuring even more advanced and even browning. Alas, but not! It does not toast - it is faulty. I hope this was just bad luck, as £145 for a toaster is a lot of money, and I do expect it to work. Though, admittedly, it is a beautiful thing to look at.
Would I want a replacement? I think, YES. It looks great, it stylish, and WHEN it works - its great. I will give it another try. And then I will post a second review.
