Ecellent for dummies - and for beginners to VMWare who aren't dummies.
VMware has moved on to V4.0 now - but the concepts presented in this book are still valid.

Read, Plan, Read Again, Review, Implement 1 Dec 2008
By Ian Mcquade - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Virtualization is not something one should go at without fully understanding the implications; as a consultant I have seen thousands of environments over the last 14 years and over the last few more and more are attempting to virtualize whether with VMWare or another product. Most have gotten everything wrong and thus the benefits they anticipated from virtualizing have failed to be seen. This book is where one should start and read it twice. Understanding the concepts and planning thoroughly are the roots to a successful deployment and to successfully scaling out what the final goal is. VMWare isn't about simply taking Exchange, SQL, File Sharing, MOSS, and a host of other products and dumping them on a single set of hardware to save money - no there is so much more to it than that. Get the book, read the book and you'll understand.

Must-Have and Super Helpful 5 Nov 2008
By michele o'shea - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book was so helpful for learning VMware. It started with the basics and really explained complex concepts in an easy to understand way. I was able to prove VMware would save money and roll out clustered servers by the time I was finished with the book. This book is a must have for anyone starting with VMware.

Amazing book designed for any one and everyone! 6 Mar 2009
By Donna Carlin - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I am an IT computer professional by trade. I don't normally go for the Dummies books, but when I needed to know more about VMWare I shopped around and got this book. Boy was I glad I did. It was very easy to understand, and Mr. Lowe has a great sense of humor as well. This book has something for everyone, whether you are a manager an executive or an IT professional this book has what you need. Great book... Highly recommended!
