Product Description

Logan Vittorio's life is torn apart when his bride of eight months desserts him without so much as a farewell note. Now he is on a mission to find Shelby and unravel the mystery that led to her hasty departure and to bring his runaway bride back home where she belongs.

From Vittorio's Runaway Bride:

The sound of his voice swept over her like a warm caress making her shiver in spite of the afternoon heat. Shelby nodded mutely, unable to dislodge the enormous boulder in her throat. It didn’t help that he seemed at a loss for words too, or that his fathomless dark eyes held her spellbound and breathless making it impossible to form a single thought other than how much she still loved him. She was still gazing up at him when something in Logan’s expression suddenly shifted and Shelby hastily looked away. She’d forgotten how easily he read her emotions.

“You shouldn’t have come,” Shelby said, hating how feeble her voice sounded.

“So I could spend the rest of my life wondering why my wife left me? No, carissima, you and I have a great deal to discuss.”

A familiar searing pain settled deep in her chest. “What difference could it possibly make now? It’s over, Logan. We’re divorced and…”

“There was no divorce, Shelby.”

Shelby gave him a blank stare. “You can’t be serious.”

I should probably have marked this as a 3.5 rather than 4 as I've rated the first book in the series, Vittorio's Woman, as 4 stars and that was a more plausible read for me.

However, I've just finished and I've still got a smile on my face, which I had for most of the book, so I guess I enjoyed it. The story line was unbelievable in places and became more and more so as the story progressed. If this had been the real world rather than fiction a number of the things would have been unacceptable, but of course it's not, just a nice light hearted read!

The book flowed, wasn't predicable having some nice twists and turns along the way which kept me guessing and wanting to read more so finished in a couple of days. Oh and the romance scenes were hot! This is my second Kimberley Reeves novel and I do like her writing style and will read more by her.

Just one small niggle for me, there are numerous typos, probably as a result of being self published but only a minor distraction for me.

I did enjoy though and would recommend whether as a free download or whether you have to pay the very reasonable price for this book.

It was ok.. 23 Feb 2012

This story is part of a series but it can be a read alone too.
The heroine was annoying and way too soft. When the book starts to get going properly she does seem to get better and near the end she has transformed into a woman who can look after herself. But by then I just wasnt believing it.
Logan Vittorio is an alpha male who seems to let his wife walk all over him and forgives way to easily which i just couldnt understand.
The book was ok for a one off read but i wont be reading it again. However, I will look to read the other books in the series as i liked the other charactors in the story.

The worst of the Vittorio series 2 Mar 2012
By teacher mom - Published on Amazon.com

Logan is a Vittorio, which means he's a rich, handsome, sexy, and confident Italian man. He falls for Shelby, a young, frail, red-headed woman who is possibly the most insecure character I've ever met. Even with the attentions of a man like Logan Vittorio, she still isn't convinced she's beautiful or worthy of his love. After 8 months of marriage, she sees her husband escorting a sexy woman (Alicia) out of a hotel, watches the woman kiss him briefly then climb into his limousine. Does she confront her husband about this? Not at all. Instead, she leaves him. She buys a beach cottage and files for divorce without telling him where she is or why she left. Unbeknownst to her, Logan refuses to sign the divorce papers. He's still in love with his wife, and he believes she must love him, too. He can't understand what made her leave.

Six months later, his private investigator has found her, and Logan confronts her. Things get heated really quickly when he sees that she's still wearing his wedding ring and has not taken another lover, despite thinking they are divorced. She agrees to come back home and be his wife, but what she doesn't know is that Alicia has a fatal attraction-type obsession with Logan. She intends to use every weapon in her arsenal to destroy their marriage.

This was my least favorite in the Vittorio series, because I had such little respect for Shelby. She's a pathetic, mousy character. She leaves the man she loves more than anything because she *thinks* he might be having an affair. She doesn't confront him and give him a chance to explain, and she's very, very needy. However, the story isn't horrible, because Logan is your typical Vittorio male, and the only enjoyment is derived from his characters. In many ways, he's the perfect man who has the misfortune to fall in love with Shelby. I will acknowledge that once Shelby develops a backbone (which is, unfortunately, near the end), I enjoyed it so much more.

Could Have Been Better... 9 Mar 2012

I've been following the Vittorio Series ever since the first and was excited to read about Logan's story. I've enjoyed the first two of the series, but this one was quite a disappointment.

Of course I enjoyed and loved Logan's characterization, but Shelby was just an unlikeable heroine. I don't mind heroines having flaws, but Shelby was constantly insecure with her looks & needs constant reassurance from her husband. Plus, some of her actions in the story were just ridiculous. Hence, it was hard to continue the story with a character like this for a heroine. I read the first half and scanned the rest to see how the story ended. I saw potential with this story, but it just didn't cut it. It could have been much better. To say the least, not the best in the series.

There may be a moral here... 26 Feb 2012

I had several problems with this book. The first was that it was not written sequentially, it kept fluctuating between present day and the past, with no segue. It was a bit disconcerting. I could not really tell where the book took place. There were several references to the U.S., however, it is a big Italian family with a corporation, and their friends are all Italian..so it would seem to be in Italy. The moral of the book should be: if you are a woman with self esteem issues, do not get involved with a great looking guy. I got so tired of the heroine whining to herself (and him) about her supposed shortcomings that no one else ever saw. He mentioned something, and suddenly it was a great idea, no matter how opposed to she was before. However the inadvertent joke in the book is this quote: "three days of driving could put her as far as three hundred miles". What was she driving, a pack mule team? You can drive three hundred miles in a few hours. Think before you commit something to a story, authors.
