Great product 31 Dec 2008
This a a brilliant item, One of the best I have bought off of Amazon. It does exactly what it says. I got Guitar Hero: World Tour for Christmas and I was driving my family insane with either playing it or asking to play it constantly. So instead of buying a TV for my bedroom which I really didn't want to do I went in search of something which would enable me to play on my computer screen.

After a lot of research I found this, Which I ordered on the 27th of Dec. and it arrived on the 31st of Dec.. The instructions on the box are fairly good but I think that you would have to be fairly technologically savvy to figure it all out. And also you will need a TV to set the Wii to the right settings but after you use that then your good and you won't need to do it again.

I bought this cable at the same time I bought a new wii console. I imagined that like my xbox 360, I could simply buy a wii vga cable and it would work with an lcd screen. this was not the case

Wii does not natively support vga, which means any cable claiming to do so is in fact a workaround and has limitations. my experience with this cable was thus: after having to use a tv to set it up (which was annoying but neither the manufacturer or the sellers fault.) I plugged the cable in and started playing and the following started to happen. every 1-3 minutes the screen would go black and take a few seconds to come back, as you can imagine during frantic gameplay like mariokart or deadspace: extraction this is more than a distraction it's intolerable! what's more, randomly it would come back on with six inches of the screen cropped off to the left! (which was not fixable by adjusting the wii screen position settings.)

A bit of research into these problems on the net yielded information that indicated this is not an uncommon problem and is regarded as a normal risk when connecting a wii to a vga screen. also my research seems to indicate that this cable will not support you playing virtual console games or gamecube games as the required resoloution is unsupported by vga.

soloutions seem to be higher quality screens or tv tuners, but there are no garuntees. Since I opened the packaging and the product is not technically defective I cannot return it, however I feel I've been misled and appropriate information was held back by the sellers and manufacturers in order to sell me this product. so my advice is not to buy this cable as I can vouch that it is totally unsatisfactory in what it does and what it claims to be.

I recently bought this cable in order to connect my Nintendo Wii up to a PC monitor.

It was fairly easy to set up, just make sure your PC monitor has a line-in jack for audio or you will need separate speakers.

The quality is good, the picture and sound is good. It does exactly what it is meant to.

Brilliant
Works perfectly on my DGM 1920 x 1080 monitor. Obviously the Wii needs to be set up to 480p before it will work but clear instructions were given. Read more
