It's hard to work out what exactly they were trying to achieve with this. I assume it's pop with shoegazer production (lots of effect pedal guitars indistinctly mixed along with buried vocals) with some inclinations to rock in an ambient sort of way. Being neither one or the other it just sort of fell unimpressively in between the various stools. My problem with it was the lack of any solid songs you could pay attention to. The mix was deliberately murky, which I rarely find to be agreeable unless the music is super pretty, which this isn't as it's mildly tuneful at best. It was sound for its own sake with no meaning applied to it by lyrics that were actually about something. It wasn't ambient, prog, heavy or musically inventive or varied enough to work on a more musical level. To me it was just boring after the first few songs.
As a collection of songs to crop up from time to time on shuffle I would give it three stars. As music to listen to as a 47 minute album I would give it one star. So I'll split the difference and give it two stars overall.
