Great fun. Sneakily educational. Obviously not a replacement for books, playing in the park or sitting down with a parent to learn but is nice on a rainy day to keep the kids occupied. Better than sticking them in front of the telly as at least they are interacting and learning... even if they don't realise it. But most of all it is FUN and my three year old is always asking to play his 'puter' when he gets bored of reading his many books, doing puzzles and playing with his numerous trains and cars. Is great for parents as well if they need a bit of time to do the exciting things that parents need time to do... such as laundy, dishes, hoovering.... etc etc.. Can't recommend this highly enough as long as it is used in conjunction with other non electronic toys and is not used as a replacement for child and parent interaction!!

These are useless and don't last more than 6 months. We're on our 4th in just 12 months and that is only because I keep returning them under the warranty (Tip Tesco do a 12 month electrical warranty) because my son loves it so much. At first it works fine, but after a couple of moths it takes a while to turn on, then it starts to switch itself itself off once a games cartridge is inserted. Eventually it wont register any games at all. Once he's out grown it, I will be getting rid, the tears and upset it causes each time it breaks is not worth it. V Tech need to recall these machines as the amount I've gone through proves that most are faulty and they have all been well looked after. Don't bother buying I guarantee it will break, which is such a shame as the games are fantastic for young kids.

I got this system for my son's third birthday. At first he could not get the hang of the controller (I still think the motion controller is a gimmick, the only way to use it is through the normal joystick controls), but once he figured it out, he loves playing with it. The controller is very durable for the age its targetted for and also the console itself is very sturdy. Yet beware, the graphics are very basic so do not even compare it to nintendo wii quality graphics. Its much more retro (reminescent of a bit better than amiga graphics). The output media (a standard video out does not help) Yet its enjoyable for kids this age. The console advertises that it sells education games, which is a bit of an overstatement since the educational parts are limited, but then its much more educational than a typical PS3 game. I think for its price its worth it, but does have limited appeal in today's world of smart phones and portables such as the nintendo.
