I was first introduced to VI in the form of Kathleen Turner playing the part of VI in a film. When I saw this book I was only slightly surprised (bad B movies often turn out to be excellent books). I'm now addicted and having read this book more than once (all three novels) and now planing to take it on holiday with me to read again I can really recomend it. VI is to PI's what Kay Scarpetta is to Medical examiners. She enspires woman to believe they can exist in a male dominated enviroment. It's funny, sharp and there's a bit of all of us in her.
