I owned an air cycle from a different manufacturer almost 20 years ago and was disappointed to find that there are so few on the market now. In fact this is the only one which is not classed as a cross trainer that I have been able to find.

The attraction to me of this type of cycle is the cardiovascular exercise obtained with the moving handlebars and the luxury of being able to sit down at the same time.

Anyway, I would summarise the good and bad points of this cycle as follows.

GOOD POINTS

1) The machine is relatively lightweight, easy to move and doesn't take up too much space.

2) It was fairly easy to build up although a little patience is required especially when connecting the pedals, one of which screws on clockwise and the other anti clockwise.

3) It is very stable and quite comfortable to use though some users may prefer to have more padding on the saddle.

4) The handlebars can be set as fixed or moving, I personally prefer not to have the handlebars static as the overall cardiovascular exercise experience is greater when using your arms to push the handlebars and legs to push the pedals.

5) The price is very reasonable.

BAD POINTS

1) There is no pulse monitor with the cycle.

2) The bike is suited to someone who is trying to lose some weight and improve their fitness. It is too lightweight for a serious sports person or athlete to get a strenuous workout from.

3) Maximum user weight is 17 stone approx.

Although the bike is less substantial than my previous air cycle I still prefer it to a conventional exercise bike with fixed handlebars.

Great bit of kit, easy to assemble. Be aware when fitting pedals that one is threaded clockwise the other counter clockwise so you don't end up like other reviews moaning that the pedals don't go on properly. Very pleased with the bike and very pleased with the price.

I researched exercise bikes for some time before deciding on this one, and a key part of the decision process was that other reviews had said the assembly was easy. I feel compelled to write a review against this for the benefit of other people. The assembly was tough, and the instructions made very little sense. Some pieces didn't seem to go anywhere, and at first glance, didn't seem to do anything once a place was found for them. It is absolutely not possible to use common sense to assemble this.

That said, once assembled, it works well. It has a resistance dial which does make a difference, and the ability to cycle and exercise your arms at the same time is a positive. It is not noisy, and I have often cycled in the same room as people watching tele and haven't disturbed them. I would recommend this if you can get past the assembly stage.

Very quick delivery, and easy to assemble when it arrived. Had a magnetic exercise bike previously which I didn't like as much. This one much easier to use. Would recommend to anyone.

My first bike broke within a few months. Amazon was kind enough to send me a new one, wich also broke within a few months. The frictiontape wears out almost instantly due to a sharp edge on the flywheel. I loved the bike as long as it was functional however.

Bought this machine to encourage my husband to exercise more regularly. No problem to put together. Straight forward. It is perfect for what we want and thought it quite good value for money. No complaints

Replacement for previous Delta Air Cycle which lasted over 10 years. Not many of this type around. Has proved an excellent buy. Easy to assemble with well illustrated instructions. Lightweight - so it is easy to move around but doesn't feel flimsy in use. Simple, uncomplicated easy to use with a smooth action and a nice breeze from the front wheel. It has quite an upright sitting position and comfortable seat. The best thing about the bike is that you can disengage the handlebars from the pedals to create static handlebars if you don't want any upper body exercise. It has a calorie/speed/distance etc modes but no pulse. Didn't want that anyway.

I purchased this execise bike after a knee replacement operation, it has been brilliant with the recovery process, as you know you need to build up the muscle strength in your legs and now seing the benifit. This great piece of equipment and I would recommnd it to everyone as part of their fitness programme, just as good as any exercise bike you would find at your loacl gym or sports hall.

This is the third V fit air cycle I've owned, having used and worn out 2 in 4 years. After looking on line at many other exercise bikes I decided to go with what I know. I am used to the feel of the bike and was afraid if I purchased a more expensive bike I would not neccessarily like it. I use my bike at least 5 times a week do on average 150km a week so it gets plenty of use. For the price it is excellent value and I am pleased with it. My only complaint is that the tension strap around the fly wheel is fraying a little which does concern me.
