This is a great small book. It has beautiful bright and vivid images of some of V&A museums collection of wallpaper, prints and textile designs.

What I wanted was a selection of patterns that gave a flavour of the Fities - and this little book amply provided that. The small amount of text is relevant and informative; there are over 60 colour reproductions of textile and fabric designs in the book itself and 70 patterns on the CD which comes with the book - some of them repeats of the ones in the book.
The CD should open in most image software.
While you are invited to use the images as inspiration and a resource,you are also asked to respect the V&A's intellectual property. Whilst permission should be sought for commercial use, the museum's commitment to design means that "securing permissions should be reasonable and quick".
As an initial dip into Fifties patterns, I think this is really excellent value. The short bibliography looks helpful.

If you like patterns then the book gives you paterns, gave it as a gift seemed popular and still floating under the coffee table.

Excellent book.
For anyone interested in textiles this is a truly valuable resource. Full of wonderful patterns & graphic images it is anexcellent book for the price. Strongly recommended.

great introduction to fifties print
This book is compact but clearly demonstrates an array of fifties print. Some are easily recognised such as Lucian Day and others are more obscure. Read more
