I bought this mortar & pestle after I read about it in BBC Olive last month. It looked really appealing and I decided to give it a go.I have been very pleased with the results so far. I've used it for grinding down whole allspices for seasoning fish and meat, also for crushing herbs for pasta.I have not used it for anything else, yet, but will try very soon. It's amazingly fast, attractive on the kitchen counter and comfortable to use.It's also dishwasher safe, so I hope it won't retain colour of the allspice, likes others do.I would say,that if you like to use fresh spices and herbs in your cooking, then this mortar & pestle set is a must.

I've just bought a recipe book for slow cooker curries, and the Smash! Pestle and Mortar is an essential item of kit for quickly reducing the most stubborn peppercorns to the exact consistency required with a minimum of effort - and it's comfortable to use. Highly recommended.

Ok I read the reviews and then tried it for myself. Pestle fits really well and is a great design. Tried it with some Coriander Seed and they didn't spill all over the kitchen. My little Three year girl can use this too :)
