This book is the standard for any undergraduate wishing to understand statistics. I'm not sure about previous versions but this has everything you are likely to need in order to understand relatively simple statistics. I find some of the other statsical books slightly patronising, but this one is not.... This has nothing to do with the review but my iPad insists on using the word Sadistic when I try to type statistics, read into this what you wish.

The book on the other hand is not clear. There are many other better statistics books!

First concerning the purchaise, everything was very quick. The book arrived earlier than I expected. The book itself is great. Addreses the issues in a very intuitive, accessible and helpful way. Anyone that does research should buy it.

Extremely Thorough 24 Sept. 2012
By Queen CC - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This book is a great statistics book and EXTREMELY thorough!!! I'm using this in a doctoral program and it's very helpful; however, if you do not have a strong statistical background you may need another supporting book for assistance, because this book goes into a lot of depth that assumes a certain level of knowledge.

My only complaint about it is that it goes deeply into detail within its examples and they build from chapter to chapter, so if you're not reading or studying the book in the same format it's written, the examples can be somewhat confusing. However, the explanation of the sections is still helpful.

Good statistics resource, easy to understand. 24 Nov. 2012
By JLW - Published on Amazon.com

While this book is a bit expensive, I have found it to be a great statistics resource especially for multivariate statistics. I've used quite a few other resources as well, but this one seems to have a more comprehensive list of analyses to aid in statistical research. I only wish that it was a little less expensive!

Execrable index! 29 Mar. 2015
By Stella Johns - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
The single star is solely for the index, which is close to useless. Clearly, the publisher and authors were trying to save money--the paper quality is another tip-off--but the poor quality of the index makes it almost impossible to find a specific item in this very dense, 1000-plus-page volume. The entry for 'Model,' for example, is followed by a list of 103 separate page ranges (I just counted), without any subheadings to indicate the context in which those discussions of models might have occurred. The same occurs for many other index entries. What prompted this rant was my looking for what the authors have to say about interaction terms. I'm sure it's in there somewhere, but the index does not list them and I've given up! All the hard work that went into developing this volume is undermined by this sorry, sorry index.
