Product Description

Product Description

Combining single-equation linear regression analysis with intuitive real-world examples and exercises is key to the success of Using Econometrics.  Clear writing and a practical approach to econometrics that eschews the use of complex matrix algebra and calculus evidence this essential text's accessibility.

As the subtitle, A Practical Guide, implies, this book is aimed not only at beginning econometrics students, but also at regression users looking for a refresher and at experienced practitioners who want a convenient reference.

A good introduction to the field of econometrics. Ideal for most 2nd year Undergraduate Introduction to Econometics courses. Covers all the basic topics in a clear and concise manner. I found this book complemented my course very well. If your looking for a more technical treatment of the subject matter, ideal for 3rd year Undergraduate or 1st year Postgraduate, then try either William H.Greene's Econometric Analysis Econometric Analysis or Damodar Gujarati's Basic Econometrics Basic Econometrics 4/e

All you need for basic regression and such 15 Feb 2007

This is a well organized text that is great to have on the shelf for making sense of your statistical output and for thinking about how to approach your research question. It's well written and neither too simple or impenetrable. A little short on statistical tables and diagnostics as compared to some of its peers.
Excellent introduction to econometrics 30 Jan 2011

This book is the best introduction to econometrics I have read. Easy to follow. Good explanations. If this is your first book, good for you. If not, grab it! If too expensive, get an older edition.

Review for Book 15 Dec 2010

Excellent. This book explains the classical assumptions clearly and explains what to do when these assumptions are not met. Model specification and other remedies for multicollinearity, serial correlation, and spurious regression results are explained. Great for introductory econometrics classes.
