this is one of my sons absolute favourite books, he loved it from 4 months.
Out of the many we have, it was the only one which kept his attention, and got the best giggles, I think due to the many different illustrations and furry bits to touch! Its a mystery to me why this one works, I'm not sure if its the puppy element or the "touchy" furry bits element, but it was a great buy! We actually replaced the first (which he over used and fell to bits) with a second copy. Would recommend 4-12 months

This book is absolutely fantastic. It is much better than the "That's not my..." series of books as there are numerous different textures on each page.
From about 4 months my son would sit on my lap, pat the pages, turn the pages, turn them back, close the book, open it up again, pat the pages some more and so on. He would happily sit with me and this book for 15 minutes before he'd lose concentration. He is 7 months now and he still adores the book. We read it almost every day. We also have the Kittens version of this book which he loves equally as much. I will be buying this book for any friends having babies in the future.

We got this for my 6 1/2 mos old and he absolutely loves it. I agree 100% with the other reviewer. He loves feeling the different textures on each page and almost seems to anticipate whats going to be on the next page. It's not a tiny board book (like many others) and it has large, colorful pictures which keep his attention. The pages are thick, too, so it should last through the teething stage! I only wish it had 1 or 2 more pages to it ...

My 7 month old loves this book! It's great because he's at the age now where reading to him is hard because he wants to chew on the pages. The pages of this book are much thicker than the average board book, so it's practically indestructible. Plus, each page has lots of different textures that he loves to feel and it actually holds his attention. With other books, he gets bored and looks away. He actually gets excited when mommy says "let's read about the puppies".
