5.0 out of 5 stars Great for young myth fans! 18 Jun 2004
I picked this book up when I was young from the library, and ever since I've been hooked on myths and legends.
It's a brilliant book, with a brief outline of all the major Greek and Norse myths. Best of all, there's a who's-who guide at the back of the book explaining the major characters, their histories and their destinies.
This books great, the art's fantastic, and is the best buy for any young kids who want to know the histories of all the Greek and Norse gods.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Book 2 May 2010
This is a really good book if you are interested in both Greek and Norse mythology. It covers all of the major myths in their most common setting and the Whos Who guide for both is a great asset if you just want to know how to pronouse names or what someone was famous for.

It does not cover everything naturally since it is about both Greek and Norse, but is a great buy none the less.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must for Myth Lovers 26 Mar 2000
By Cassie Seaman - Published on Amazon.com
Any person who loves myths and legends should get this book. It contains wonderful pictures and stories. I've read them over and over. The pictures are one of my favorite things in the book. My younger sister just sits there and looks at them forever. It tells about how the Greeks and Norse believed there was a bunch of different worlds and maps them out for you.

I remember reading this book in elementary school...I couldn't remember what it was called, only that I had checked it out a million times from the school library as a child and that it had the minotaur on the front. The art is just fantastic and there's quite a few stories to keep you entertained.

I had this book as a kid and loved it then; now that I have a kid of my own and am working on building his library, I knew I had to find a copy of this for him. This book is extremely readable and packed with information on all the classic myths (for any parents out there who are familiar with some of these myths, don't worry, they gloss over some of the more explicit details of ancient Greek relationships, so there's nothing in there that is inappropriate for children). My husband is an RPG gamer and picked this up when it arrived and flipped through it, then sat down and read the whole thing and now wants to know why I didn't get a copy for HIM before now.
